Carr has Disengage, remember? Cover Fire WOULD make you take Leaving Disengagement, but it's moot for Agent Carr anyways.

Good point, he does have disengage. 1 on Skahen to fire and get him there, 2 on Carr to move to the best target and attack, 3 on Skahen to bring him home. Quite the little assassination combo. The only thing that could mess with the plan would be any miss on her part. The above plan depends on all shots hitting. If the dice are kind to you, this is an awesome strategy

Re: The Book of Agent Skahen

Just a note. Any strategy that relies on moving 2 additional figures per turn is pretty error prone. Frankly if you're dealing at least 2 wounds every single turn with her anyway, you're probably rolling well enough that any side strategy is simply going to slow you down.

Otonashi also has phantom walk so she can disengage to. Using a Skahen, Otonashi combo can work too. After moving Agent Carr use cover fire on Otonashi two times. Whenever she makes it to Agent Carr use tricky speed and take out any of your opponent's wild characters.

They were quite thorough with the wording of the power. I would think a way to guarantee that the above strategy will work is to attack your own low defense units, and ensure a wound. But the card actually states that you must attack an opponent for cover fire to work.

I think they have some pretty good rules lawyers at WOTC

Actually, she has to get half of her shots to wound for this strategy to work. If your main goal is moving Carr, then you have two chances to get that accomplished each activation. And if you get more, then I'm sure there's another tricky Agent nearby with this army to benefit.

Doesn't have to be an agent, just a Tricky Vydar unit, but I suspect you already knew that. It is very likely that the nearby Tricky Vydar figure will, in fact, be an Agent . . . with Smoke Powder . . . and Engagement Strike.

Re: The Book of Agent Skahen

I was thinking...

If you compare her to the Krav, she doesn't seem so good anymore. She's more expensive, and loses one attack.

But if drafted with the Nakitas, I think her points make it up again. She depends on what the rest of your army is; she'll go down pretty quick if not used right, methinks.

But for the extra 20 pts, you get a figure who gives some unity to an army built from some of the best ranged-attackers in the game, and gives some of the lesser ones a chance at redemption (::coughcoughgorrillinatorscough:.

Oh, yeah - and she's also a pretty great figure in her own right. Remember: modifiable 3-Attack at 7 Range . . . twice .

It is true that she is uniquely suited to work with the Nakitas (go figure), being that her weakness is in Defense and they can give her a chance to disappear. I have a feeling we're meant to consider that when deciding which Tricky figures Cover Fire should move and where those units should wind up.

Re: The Book of Agent Skahen

Thanks for the photo, it gives me something to use tonight until someone scans the card into the gallery. I have already found and converted Nakitas into Skahens....with mixed results. I could not find my black hobby paint. So, I resorted to--are you ready for this?

Sharpies.
It was pretty easy, and 2 out of the 3 look better than when I started. There's no helping that long haired one, but you all probably knew that already. So, out of a pack of Nakitas, one can get 2 useable Agent Skahens (Oprah and the redhead are in somewhat similar poses).

That's because she isn't meant to be played with the Krav.

Skahen looks to be a very thematic character in play style as well as appearance. Her role is exactly what the card implies: to provide suppressing fire for those units whose mobility isn't quite optimal. The Krav can clearly take care of themselves, but the Nakitas tend to get shot full of holes while they're trying to keep up with their allies. Skahen can "Cover" for their unimpressive movement (their primary weakness), earning her points and the Nakitas' simultaneously.

But if you're trying to provide tactical support to units who can move out and attack all on their own, you're just wasting order markers that would be better spent on those units themselves.

Whatever does not kill me has made a tactical error.
