Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
GIGANTIC SMASH
Giganto may add 2 to her range when attacking a figure whose base is no more than 10 levels higher than her height or 10 levels lower than her base. Giganto may attack non-adjacent figures when she is engaged, unless itshe is adjacent to an opponent's huge figure. I think this makes it clearer. "it is adjacent" can be read as if the non adjacent figure she is attacking can't be attacked when that figure is adjacent to a huge figure. Love that this got used and this looks like a blast to play. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Giganto Army Test Map: Custom Units: Giganto (370), Mole Man (100), Moloids x13 (130) (600) VS Captain Cold (II), Murmur, Rainbow Raider, Pied Piper, Mirror Master (Leg Swap), Weather Wizard (I) (600)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army Test Map: Custom Units: Giganto (370), Dr Doom (375) (745) VS Vegeta (base + SSJ), Krillin (750)
Spoiler Alert!
THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Giganto is a fun one. Gigantic Ambush is a great way to enter the fray after you’ve moved up your Human Ruler. Gigantic Smash means it is very hard to avoid being hit by Giganto if she wants to hit you. It’s a pretty necessary power too, given her base size makes it difficult to place and find height. Balance felt pretty good. Wouldn’t make any changes. |

Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
From Cinderquail:
C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Giganto – The Mole Monster Version tested:
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test Map: Cell Games Arena Units: 600 pts – Mole Man, Moloids x13, Giganto VS 600 pts – Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Moon Knight 150
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army Test Map: City Park Units: 1000 pts – Dr Doom 375, Doombot, Giganto, Radioactive Man VS 1000 pts – Fantastic Four
Spoiler Alert!
THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: 370 is good, close game in game 1. Game 2 was a total blowout but only because Doom was on fire. GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Giganto is a pretty straight forward bonding hero. Her Ambush and Reach are easy to understand and pretty useful. Ambush can really swing a game if the unblockables land. I like that it brings Mole Man and the Moloids back from the dead, the Dr Doom combo is strong but not too much as it is 745 pts or 840 with a Doombot. If the LD decided a tweak was needed they could drop life from 6 to 7, but I didn't feel it was necessary. |

Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
Giganto is 3-1 in Public Playtesting so far, althought one was such a fluky win I almost can't count it. I think I'll wait for one more set of tests before moving forward/adjusting.

Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Giganto (Mole Monster)
Version Tested:
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test Map: City Park Units: Giganto (370), Doctor Doom (375), Doombot (95)x2, Kristoff von Doom (115), Stan Lee (50) (1100) Ms Marvel (350), Cap (240), Winter Soldier (240), Wolverine(Avengers) (270) (1100) Results: As close as it gets. Was looking to be a bad loss for Doom, but Giganto landing 2 unblockables on both Cap and Winter Soldier, tying them down while attacking Ms Marvel from range evened things up. The Giganto/Doom combo makes it so you risk an LEA from Giganto, on top of risking Pit Trap, so it takes the heat off Doom. Nice to have a big rock for Doom, and adds variety to the Doom/Kristoff/Doombot draft. Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test Map: Bad Moon Rising Units: Giganto (370), Mole Man (100), Judge Anderson (190), Moloids (10)x14 Luke Cage (190), Iron Fist (260), Tigra (170), Punisher (180) Results: Poor Giganto barely did anything. His pop up inflicted no wounds, but he did help stamp out Punisher, who would have inhibited the swarms of Moloids. Only attacked for 3 wounds in 2 attacks, and got destroyed by Luke Cage in 2 attacks, lasting less than 1 round. The Moloids surrounded Mole Man to keep him safe from the melee fighters, on top of Judge Anderson’s protection, and their numerous attacks chipped through the Defender’s health. Spoiler Alert!
Spoiler Alert!
THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: His bonding is obviously very limited, but being a Unique Hero makes him more versatile than the typical Giant Monster. There’s probably a cool Guardians or Avengers build that can use him and a Human Ruler. Balance-wise, he doesn’t have as many tools or the survivability of most other figures in his range. I always refer back to She-Hulk (370), who is a figure moving, auto-wounding, turn denying, bonding tank. Her bonding is limited, but easier to factor into more builds than Giganto. Abomination is 360 though, and they’re very comparable. Abomination has an easier time moving around and more reliable/more opportunities for auto-wounding than Giganto. I’d also remove the OM restriction on the Ambush power. It’s already once per game, and telegraphs the “ambush” a little too much. Doing Giganto, Mole Man and Moloids already pulls the Order Markers off of Moloids and onto Mole Man. I like the way the Moloids require an OM, and don’t want that to change, because having so many of them makes them a safer OM hub than Mole Man. GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: The Mole Empire is a fun “faction” to play, and Giganto finally makes it more than just Moloids and Mole Man. |

Re: The Book of Giganto (The Mole Monster) - Public Playtest
I'm switching the Ambush power to drop the need to place an order marker on Giganto to use it. It adds more tension to not have to telegraph that its coming.
GIGANTIC AMBUSH Once per game, instead of moving, you may place Giganto on any non-water spaces that Giganto could end her movement on that are within 6 spaces of a Human Ruler that you control. If there are figures on those spaces, you may first move those figures 2 spaces each, ignoring leaving engagement attacks. Place Giganto on the chosen spaces and roll 2 unblockable attack dice against each figure adjacent to Giganto. |

Yea
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
