Trying to understand this power. Is it, if you roll higher -
1. The attacking figure takes a wound and can attack again
2. Or end its turn(and take no wounds?)

or
1. The attacking figure takes a wound, then
2. Choose to either attack again or end your turn?

From a brief readup on the character, I feel like class of Loner might make sense.

I guess I'd like to keep him Vigilante if possible. Maybe not thematic, but a father/son team up would be a fun option.

It's meant to represent his skill with his dual pistols. Extra wounds for adjacent attacks would mean reusing Surgical Strike. We were trying to build off of that in a way.

The thought behind the defensive "gambling" power was finding a way to represent his business as a casino owner and how he uses that business as a means to keep tabs/stay ahead of his enemies. It's meant to make it feel like the deck is stacked in his favor so to speak.

I'd be okay with a grapple power instead of phantom walk. I think that would probably juice up his ranged double attack as he would be able to gain height advantage more easily though.

Still having a disconnect with surgery which is hands on and pistols that are range. If it is to show his knowledge of human anatomy and his ability to hit vital spots, how does that apply to non-humans, especially androids, constructs, Destructible Objects, alien physiology, etc.?

I think that largely describes how he operates, right? Also didn't he, in some version, also team up with Justice League like heroes? Vigilante would be a cleaner fit for that.

The way I connect it is the belief that performing surgery requires precise movements and steady hands as well as knowledge of human anatomy. Usually when firing a gun, the more precise and steady your hands, along with controlled breathing, you tend to be a better shot.

Wording thus far is very simple, so if we want built in immunities for things like Constructs and destructible objects on the additional wound front, that would be fine, fwiw. Things like Aliens I'm less concerned about given if we went down that line of theme proofing we'd be a hot mess for a lot of designs, so some middle ground makes sense.
