My immediate thought upon reading his bio was that he seems like a Rogue that the rest of the Rogues would, uhh, "forget to invite" to their schemes... so I enjoyed seeing the mechanical motivation to not put him too close to your own guys.

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1: The Rogues take on Flash and Atom (ineffectively). Flash puts some wounds on Boomerang while Atom irritates Girder.

Round 2: Flash goes after Weather Wizard (failing to wound him), so Murmur attacks Flash. He misses first, then wounds himself and manages a wound that turns into two thanks to Surgical Strike. Flash wounds Weather Wizard then is taken out by Weather Wizard. Red Arrow takes out Boomerang.

Round 3: The Arrows put a couple wounds on Magenta, but Girder crushes Green Arrow.

Round 4: Batman takes out Girder and puts 2 wounds on Blacksmith, but Batman is brought to 3 wounds.

Round 5: Batman takes out Blacksmith then Weather Wizard takes out Batman.

Round 6: Red Arrow takes out Weather Wizard, though he’s wounded for it. Murmur moves up to reinforce the nearly-dead Magenta.

Round 7: Red Arrow takes out Magenta, while Murmur chases. Murmur engages Atom along the way and slices him to death. Red Arrow keeps his distance, bringing Murmur to 4 wounds.

Round 8: Red Arrow takes out Murmur.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Red Arrow (2 wounds) wins.

Murmur had a nice offensive showing here (thanks to Flash whiffing on blanks when he attacked), but his slowness and frailty were made quite apparent. Bloodborne Virus affected placement but never hit here.

Round 2: Cap puts a few wounds on Girder. Girder takes out Iron Man. Magenta throws Cap for a wound.

Round 3: Cap takes out Weather Wizard. The Rogues bring Cap to 4 wounds. Black Widow puts a couple wounds on Blacksmith.

Round 4: Girder takes out Cap, Black Widow takes out Blacksmith.

Round 5: Rogues bring Black Widow to 4 wounds, while she wounds Magenta.

Round 6: Boomerang takes out Black Widow. Daredevil takes out Boomerang then is thrown by Magenta. Girder rusts to death.

Round 7: Murmur finally enters the fight, fighting Daredevil mano-y-mano. Daredevil easily kills him, but Bloodborne Virus does wound Daredevil. Daredevil takes out Magenta for the win.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Daredevil (3 wounds) wins.

Saved Murmur for the end here, and unfortunately he wasn’t as successful. But he was fighting an enemy worth over twice his points and he managed a wound, which is something!

Round 1: Rogues and Titans move up. Murmur immediately targets Raven, putting one wound on her twice - which turns into 4 wounds thanks to Surgical Strike! Also, his self-wounding wounds Terra with Bloodborne Virus. Starfire takes out Top and Raven transfers a wound to Abra Kadabra.

Round 2: Murmur misses his attacks (but again wounds Terra with Bloodborne Virus), then Abra Kadabra kills Raven. The Titans take out Kadabra. Murmur takes out Terra. Starfire takes out Heat Wave.

Round 3: The Titans take out Murmur. The Rogues are largely ineffective.

Round 4: The Rogues cannot hit Nightwing, which is their downfall this game. Mirror Master is taken out.

Round 5: The Titans take out Captain Cold.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Nightwing (0 wounds), Starfire (0 wounds), Cyborg (1 wound)

Murmur did a good amount of damage here, but Starfire just wrecked, and Nightwing wouldn’t die.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I’m pretty happy with 85 points. Murmur’s a slow glass cannon that actively wants to wound himself and avoid his allies. It’s an interesting design that fits well in the Rogues. The overall games show 3 losses, but the first two were super close and the last was against the best Titans.

One thing I wondered: should Bloodborne Virus work when Murmur is destroyed? I played it as if it did, but he missed the roll every time.
