Pretty neat take. Negotiating with the enemy and either making them angrier (OM to them) or talking them down (OM removed) is fun theme.

ENTANGLE
When an opponent’s small or medium figure moves onto or over a space within 2 spaces of Groot, that figure must end its move there.

ROCKET AND GROOT
Whenever Groot is moved on your turn, you may choose an unengaged friendly small figure named Rocket Raccoon that is adjacent to Groot. After you move Groot, place the chosen figure adjacent to Groot. While a friendly Rocket Raccoon is adjacent to Groot, he is considered to be ? levels higher than his base for the purpose of determining height advantage against non-flying figures.

RAGTAG PROTECTOR
If no Unique Heroes in your army have the same species or class and a figure you control within 4 clear sight spaces of Groot receives one or more wounds, you may inflict a wound on Groot to ignore 1 wound inflicted on that figure.

Both our Groot designs are really solid, but one thing I feel like we're missing is a more "lunchbox" version that represents how the character acts in a post-MCU world.

Gift of the Florae is his ultimate ability in the recent Guardians video game, where it's basically a revive like Mercy from Overwatch. It's also the part of the design that I'm not sure is really singing right now? For one, I don't think I've ever seen comics Groot heal others. And second, I'm not sure it would feel as epic as it does in the game when your opponent can just focus on one Guardian at a time.

Loses a little bit of that "Groot as Deus Ex Machina" vibe but I feel like it's a more fun and more workable power overall.

GETTING THE JOB DONE
The Professional adds 1 to their Attack number and Defense number when attacking or defending against the Target.

PAID IN FULL
When the Target is destroyed, you may place the Reward on the Army Card of the Professional.

Not sure I love "the Professional" as the term for the Merc/Assassin. Any suggestions there?

That's a cool idea. Could just use the "Chosen figure" language rather than "professional." Also do you want this guy to get the reward even if the chosen figure isn't the one who finishes the job?

Haven't looked at the glyph list, but that seems like a kinda weird way to get paid. Could always be a permanent initiative boost or something too.

I feel like chosen figure language might get confusing when there are two chosen figures, but I'd be willing to try it.

I considered having the Professional have to be the one to get the final blow, but I guess it felt a little needlessly complicated and unsatisfying. Plus, if Taskmaster wants to subcontract the Madripoor Mercs or the Yakuza to help him, that seems more cool than anything.

Deathstroke getting paid in Web Pistols does seem a bit silly, yeah. Just as a random idea, maybe the Merc/Assassin can receive a Glyph of Loot and receive a bonus as long as they're holding it?
