Battle systems makes several different kits like this for different genres. $100 isn't expensive really for a neoprene mat and all that prepainted terrain.

Heck, I paid about $119 just for a 6x4 neoprene mat from a company in Lithuania. Of course, about $37 of that was fir shipping. It came in other the full 6x4 mat or the version I got, which is the same design, but cut into 6 4x2 sections. I can lay them out in different configurations. Plus, for The Walking Dead All Out War miniatures game, it plays on a 20"×20" surface, so only one mat is needed unless I want to make bigger boards for it.

$100 for something I have to carefully assemble and doesn't have hexes on it? Nah, I'll stick to my $30 bookshelf skyscrapers then.

If we played C3G on a square grid I'd most likely pick it up. I've spent over $100 total on a bunch of separate things from different sources that would equal about as much stuff if not less. The difference is just that I don't usually buy them all at once, $10 here, $15 there, etc. I did buy 3 of those bookshelves + a ream of card stock + color ink so that was about $100 in all.
