Until we get something that blocks powers that use clear sight or has the ability to negate powers.

I just realized this Counter Strike works against all adjacent attacks.

It seems possible that Special Attacks do not make it into this game, given the relative complexity of their rules

Yeah - I agree with veggie. Having both Special Attacks and Special Abilities was nice as the only two types of modifiers, but fooling around with Special Attacks, Special Abilities AND Spell Cards feels like a bit much for someone entering a brand new system.

No cap on the att. bonus means he could be rolling a lot of att. die should he find himself surrounded. Needs a trample enchantment to spread all that damage around.

Or if he's attacking an ally, or an adjacent figure he can't see (which admittedly doesn't seem possible given the current dearth of terrain, but it's definitely possible with an HS battlefield).

I'm pretty sure Special Attacks won't be in this game. There's nothing in the rules about them and none of the current units have one. I predict future rules expansion like with the card game so they may come later but I wouldn't be surprised if they're never introduced.

Interesting observation with Special Attacks. In MtG, the closest thing to a special attack are tapping abilities, which will probably be closer to Sonlen's d20 power.

Let me preface this by saying: Yes ,the Heroscape figures below are used as a situational example to further the relatability of the question.


I might interpret this wrong or Gideon might be broke but when it says that he gets +1 attack for every opponent figure within two hexes, In the event he somehow gets surrounded by something such as 6 squads of Zombies of Morindan(or any single space figure) with all 18 surrounding hexes occupied, Would he technically have 21 attack due to that buff? If so that is Insane. Can someone clarify this potential game-changer?
