Painting Hex Tiles

I am interested in painting all my hex tiles because I do not like the brown outline of each hex. Last night I painted a couple of tiles with green paint and I think they look good. However, I am concerned that the paint may start chipping off from use. Should I use some kind of spray varnish to cover them? I would appreciate any advice.

When I mount my scenery on hex tiles, any spare hexes get sprayed by the gloss varnish. I reckon that might be a good idea - presumably it would hold the paint in the way you want to? Your best bet is most likely Grishnakh's custom scenery thread - I am sure you will be able to find an answer in there somewhere, or mail the great man yourself. (just dont mention Shrek )
