Can you spawn a Scion and then immediately eat it that turn?

Also, note: The "event" Ruiner is not listed as a hero or creature, nor does it have any size written. Because the "event" statsheet is meant to replace the normal army card, I must assume that it actually isn't considered a hero, etc.

Tough call. The eating part says at the start of your turn, where the spawning part has no time restriction.

I am going to have to say yes you can. If it said eat before taking a turn it would be a for sure no.

I believe the event version would not be a creature/hero ect, having no designation other than figure. It would need a size for movement and engagement purposes but you would need extra terrain for that to come into play.

Well, it definitely is still Unique, given the presence of the icon by its hit zone.

It occurs to me, however, that Eldrazi Scions' abilities only work on "Eldrazi" "heroes"-- neither of which is listed on the ridiculously powerful Ruiner. So does that mean the Scions can't be eaten (unlikely), or that the Ruiner keeps its classifications (which would open so many chances for enemies to smash it into eldritch paste, using things that work on "creatures")?

Yikes, yeah that is a problem.

I am sure the intent is to allow him to 'eat' the Scions.

They really should have ran these by Heroscapers before release.

If the Ruiner keeps its classes, Harrowing Journey could rip out half its Life in a 3-player game. If both PWs happen to have that card... yikes.

If the Ruiner only has what's listed on that page, then its Scions are nothing more than a small pile of stats.
