Re: The Book of Medusa (Vote for Public Playtesting)
Interesting that she has no special powers she can use on her own turn. She'll need some synergy help to get into position. Seems like she'd be worth less than 300 but I guess her stat block isn't bad? It's a weird one. But if she felt good in the initial that's what matters.

Re: The Book of Medusa (Vote for Public Playtesting)
She can fly.
In all seriousness, though, she's a lot like Blob, who still has value and sees play, but on his actual turn all you're doing is lumbering forward and attacking with a single attack. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I did find that her and Mister Mind made a nice pairing as she doesn't necessarily want to take a turn. This Passes. Last edited by Karat; March 7th, 2022 at 04:51 PM. |

Make sure to link the initial, btw.

That's a measure of how off my norm I am...I typically have it linked as soon as I post it

Re: The Book of Medusa (Public Playtesting)
Just realized that we did not set a space restriction on the Gaze. I'm thinking 4 or 5 clear sight spaces would make sense? Makes her Call have slightly more impact too. Don't believe I ever used the Gaze against ranged attacks though.
For reference, this is the current power: Quote:

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: MEDUSA VERSION TESTED
Spoiler Alert!
Army Test Map: Martian War Zone Units: Cheetah (Injustice) (275), Giganta (235), Lex Luthor (Injustice) (185), Medusa (305) (1000) vs Wonder Woman (I) (300), Flash (JL) (270), Superman/Batman Robot (250), Vibe (Paco) (180) (1000)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army TestMap: SEWER LABYRINTH Units: Lex Luthor (Injustice) (185), Gorilla Grodd (Injustice) (285), Black Manta (230), Medusa (300) (1000) vs Wonder Woman (JL) (310), Hawkwoman (260), Black Canary (JL) (220), Green Arrow (JL) (210) (1000)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ UNIT SUMMARY: Medusa has a neat bag of tricks, but she’s not as stout at tanking wounds as someone like Blob and she doesn’t do much on her own Order Marker. I think she’s probably a tad weak for 300 given the competitiveness of that price point. She’s probably good as is around 280. I find myself wishing she still had a special attack to use on her turn as Venomous Bites felt a bit like trinket text in practice.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Medusa (Public Playtesting)
Looking at updating Hypnotic Call to essentially always be on and only work on non-adjacent to try and keep her at 300. I think I worded it correctly.

Re: The Book of Medusa (Public Playtesting)
Could help. In my second game, figures just accepted that they’d need to take her out first and she wasn’t bad to take out. My view is probably tainted by her bad defense rolls, though.
Non-adjacent makes sense just because it gets a little mechanically wonky with adjacent figures. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
