As a guy who lost his fantasy title to another AJ Green no-show this week, I have to agree. AJ Green (and Calvin Johnson to a lesser degree) basically made it in on reputation. Which I kind of get - AJ Green is probably the most coveted WR in the league right now. But he had some injuries this year for the first time and his numbers just aren't up to par with the top guys.

If I were setting the teams I'd drop Megatron and AJ Green, and add two of OBJ, Emmanuel Sanders, and Jeremy Maclin.

Beckham totally deserves it. Being a household name counts for a lot, though. It's not as bad as baseball's All Star Game, but it's a factor.

What hurts ODB is he trash talks to no end, and pisses off defenses. I'm sure the def players probably aren't voting for him because of that.

ODB has had some incredible games in the last 2 months but I would not have voted for him to go to the pro-bowl either. As others have said, it is a season long award. I would not have voted for AJ Green or Megatron either, they just did not earn it this year. If ODB does what he has done in the last 2 months all season long next year he will be a no brain selection. I want to see him dominate like that at the start of the season when teams are fresh, healthy, playing for something, and actively scheming to stop him. The Giants haven't played in a meaningful game is quite some time and guys only playing for pride don't play as hard as those playing for championships. Defenses are not going all out to shut him down, they didn't even know who he was a few months ago and had no tape on him even if they did want to game plan for him. In the back half of a season, top defensive guys are playing hurt or not playing at all and back-ups are in. I'm not saying the guy isn't talented, he clearly is. I'm just not voting him into the pro-bowl based on 1/2 a season.

As a Lion's fan, I'd say Tate deserves it more than Calvin this season. But we had another player, Deandre Levy, jobbed by the Probowl system, so I won't complain too much about Calvin making it.

The Probowl is basically meaningless at this point as no one watches the game and the voting is a popularity contest with very little regard for actual merit. I think fans are better off pretending it doesn't exist.

And, yeah, Dominic Raiola is a tool. Most Lion's fans I know have been wanting him replaced for years. Hopefully this is his last season with us.

I totally agree about Golden. Tate is the MVP for the Lions this year IMO.
He saved us so many times. Bell has been solid also.

If I may chime in, that hit did not look intentional. I was watching the game, and on that play it looked like Ziggy is already starting to make a tackle, and then Clausen slid after the tackel started, and unfortunately the helmets ended up colliding. He's been a very solid player, and I really don't think he was trying to tackel helmet to helmet.

Not that it's Clausen's fault at all, but to an extent when you take of running as a QB you're going to get some punishment for that. I don't understand why a QB running the ball doesn't get treated any different than a RB running the ball.

Wide Receivers I Love in Week 17
Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants: The most obvious of obvious names, I am listing him here because I have him as my No. 1 wideout this week, a crazy thought for a rookie who wasn't even playing 12 weeks ago. But the run he is on is nothing short of ridiculous, and, as I mentioned about Eli, only Washington has given up more 20-plus yard receptions and 20-plus-yard touchdowns than the Eagles. Since Week 5, only Demaryius Thomas has been a better fantasy wideout and that's by percentage points. Philly has a decent pass rush, and the Giants' O-line struggles, so I see a lot of quick slants to OBJ and yards after the catch. Or just bombing it somewhere within a 10-foot radius of OBJ and waiting for him to come down with it. Very much worth the price in daily.

Oh yeah, 12 catches for 185 yards and a score.

And... that was quick. Harbaugh out at SF. Not sure who I'm excited about as a new head coach prospect. I'd guess the Niners will have their pick as likely the best available spot for a NFL head coach to land in, but the guy who seems like the best available coach to me is the one that just left. I guess we'll see.

Congrats to our local fans of teams that are IN! Should be a good set of playoff games this go around.
