Units: Bunker (180), Aqualad (Kaldur), Tempest, Changeling (750) VS Captain America C3G, Iron Man Hasbro, War Machine (750)

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1: Aqualad and Bunker combined make the Titans super fast. Aqualad puts 2 wounds onto War Machine. War Machine’s machine gun puts 3 wounds onto Tempest. Bunker ends the round adjacent to the two Atlanteans, ready to defend them next round.

Round 2: Captain America wounds Bunker. Aqualad kills War Machine. Iron Man then kills Tempest and wounds Bunker, though Bunker avoids another wound by burning a brick marker. Aqualad wounds Captain America. Iron Man again burns one of Bunker’s brick markers and wounds him. Bunker attacks Captain America but is blocked.

Round 3: Aqualad wounds Captain America. Captain America burns Bunker’s last brick marker. Aqualad puts 2 more wounds on Captain America. Iron Man puts 3 wounds on Changeling.

Round 4: Aqualad kills Captain America (lost OM1). Aqualad then puts 3 wounds on Iron Man. Iron Man kills Changeling.

Round 5: Aqualad takes a wound from Iron Man and whiffs his own attack, then Bunker swoops in for the win with a punch that knocks out Iron Man.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Aqualad (1 wound) and Bunker (3 wounds, 0 markers) win.

Bunker used all his brick markers on himself, but he was targeted early because he’d be granting defense to others. He felt fun to play and accurate to the character, and the match was fairly close.

Units: Bunker (170), Aqualad (Kaldur), Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy (T-Rex) (1000) VS Fantastic 4 (1000)

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1: Titans and F4 move up. The F4 take out Aqualad, while the Titans have Raven engage Sue and deal her 2 wounds, while Bunker punches Reed for a wound.

Round 2: Bunker uses a couple bricks to shield incoming attacks. Each side barely wounds the other.

Round 3: Starfire swoops in to kill Sue. The Fan4 take out Raven. Bunker uses his last brick shield and takes a wound, while Starfire is brought to 3 wounds.

Round 4: Johnny takes out Bunker. Thing takes out Starfire and Johnny takes out the T-Rex. Nightwing puts up a fight but the Fan4 end victorious.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Mister Fantastic (3 wounds), Human Torch (4 wounds), Thing (0 wounds) win.

This army was designed to test Bunker in the strongest Titans army, to see if he improves them. I found that Bunker was a solid attacker and blocker for his defensive capabilities, and his movement bonuses to the walking Titans was handy. But he didn’t add anything more than other Titans of his point class.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: He’s a unique design, feels thematic to the character, and felt balanced to me at 180. Using him as the center of a Titans pod to help defend others is much easier said than done. I loved his blanks = hits power, it gave him an aggressive feel.

Units: Bunker @180, Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Superboy (Kon), Krypto (1100) vs Star-Lord, Captain America (Steve), Deadpool, Harley Quinn (I), Rocket Raccoon (II) (1100)

This is one of those cases where a Healing Factor X unit goes down to 1 Life in the endgame, but then heals up and makes the margin of victory look bigger.

Titans got off to a strong start in this one, dropping Cap and Star-Lord pretty fast. But the Guardians/Avengers team managed to drop Raven fast in turn (thanks mainly to Rocket's bombs delivering the finishing blow), and they managed to just throw enough attacks out there to skate through to the endgame. The match came down to Deadpool and Harley vs Starfire, Nightwing and Bunker. Deadpool was on his last legs, and none of the enemy team was wounded. The lack of Titan woundage actually worked in his favor; if Starfire had been able to crank out some multi-attacks here, she could have put the game away. Instead, the Titans were on limited multi-attacks, and Deadpool got the opening to heal up and take out Starfire first. Deadpool had solid defense rolls, and Nightwing and Bunker couldn't crack him in the endgame, so he won the day.

Bunker felt solid here; I wanted to play him in this army in particular to make sure throwing another defensive power on the Nightwing/Superboy/Raven stack didn't feel too overbearing, but his thing felt limited enough to be fun here. Definitely enjoy the tension between trying to keep him back to help on defene and trying to use him as a beater. The dynamic gives him some fun interplay with Superboy; you can charge him into a melee as a screen, and Superboy can rescue him back into defensive formation. I didn't maximize Platformer 3 here, being more focused on the defensive stuff, but it still came in handy. Let him and Nightwing get to height a couple times.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 1 wound to Captain America in 1 attack, 0 wounds to Harley Quinn in 1 attack, 1 wound to Deadpool in 2 attacks
• Psionic Brick Wall: First use prevented 1 wound on Raven. Second use was redundant, Starfire blocked the attack anyway. Third use prevented 1 wound on himself
• Psionic Brick Fists: resulted in an extra wound against Cap
• Platformer 3: boosted his own movement throughout, and Nightwing's a couple times
• Damage Taken: would have taken 3 from Cap in 1 attack and 3 from Deadpool in 1 attack, but Superboy took 1 instead both times. 1 wounds from Harley Quinn in 3 attacks, 3 wounds from Deadpool in 4 attacks (destroyed)

Bunker shone a bit stronger as an attacker in this game, but the Avengers were able to dismantle the Titans pretty quickly in this one - that was mainly down to Valkyrie keeping heat off Carol. Some credit also due Surfer keeping Superboy engaged to shut off Titan Protector.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 3 wounds to Silver Surfer in 3 attacks, 2 wounds to Valkyrie in 2 attacks (destroyed), 0 wounds to Ms. Marvel in 1 attack
• Psionic Brick Wall: First use prevented 1 wound on himself. Second use prevented a wound, but he still took enough to drop. Didn't get a third use.
• Psionic Brick Fists: resulted in 1 extra wound each to Silver Surfer and Valkyrie
• Platformer 3: boosted his own movement throughout, and Nightwing's a couple times
• Damage Taken: 4 wounds from Silver Surfer in 2 attacks (estroyed).

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Wanted to play around with him in the Titans Defensive Bloc, since I didn't see that in previous testing - he felt fun there, but his defensive stuff is limited enough that it's not making a big impact on that build. Cool design overall, dig how he plays. Just based on my results I could see him dropping a hair in cost, but not a hard recommendation.
