So who tried to hack my account?

Somebody tried to log into my account five times today and tripped the account lockout. The IP address was 174.132.178.37 and according to whatismyipaddress.com has the following information:

How did you find the infomation? (As in, does it say something like, "IP adress XXXX tried to log in 5 times at XX:XX AM"?)


No one has tried to hack mine, but I'm changing my password to be more secure.

Hey! Same exact thing happened to me! I just posted in HS General about it (which I now realize is the wrong subforum, my apologies!).

The source is the same IP: 174.132.178.37

IP2Location.com tells me this much:

Admins can look at ip adresses for users, as I've seen them claim so in the past, so I wouldn't think it'd be a problem to see which user it was.

And if it is serious, ip addresses can go to a PC. And the user'd have some explaining to do...

Okay, here's a (probably) really stupid question, buuttt...how does one know how to tell if their account's been hacked into? I am about the most computer illiterate person around and don't know how to check for that kind of stuff.
