What is the one unit you always want to field?

I don't always play them but the Tagawa Samurai is a squad I always want to field. Great sculpts, and the potential to level them up into a 3x 6 Attack 5 Defence squad is a fun challenge.

Gotta be that guy and say the Marro Warriors are too easy to slip into any army ever at 50, but otherwise it's Ne-Gok-Sa. Just feels too good to drop him into the middle of a fight and watch him draw fire. I love my old school Marro.

The 6 Move, Stealth Flying of the Phantom Knights always pulls at me when I'm considering making an army against an unknown opponent. Thay always seem to be an option to fill a hole I'm missing in the rest of my army.

They can fill the Glyph getter roll. They can be assassins if your opponent has a lynchpin in their strategy or if they have a unit the rest of your army can't deal with.

Against squads, their extra Insubstantial 3 dice have a great potential survive the first barrage of ranged attacks and so, they often get the first kill against ranged squads or the first attack against melee squads.

They have fair point for point odds against most heroes. Even though heroes generally have more Special Attacks to bypass the PK's defense than squads do, the PK's can often hover on the edge of their threat range to close the distance for a first strike or make an initiative switch gambit (I'm genuinely worried worried to see Braxas or Hydras though)

I only have 2 squads of most commons, so splashing 2 squads of PKs usually feels more effective for a limited purpose than 2 squads of some other things which benefit more from higher numbers and sustained Order Markers.

Plus, it's just fun to flay around the board, ignore obstacles and adjacency and always get to the advantageous positions that are left open.

Cheating, but Mogrimm Forgehammer and the Death Chasers of Thesk are so fun to use, sometimes even in congruence. I'm lucky enough to have like 6 squads of those suckers and they do so much damage, sure they can fall pretty quickly but getting to move all of them before the battle even starts feels freaking awesome. And Mogrimm, oh Mogrimm may just be the best cheerleader in the game. Put him in any army and he has a role to play, especially when you have a squad heavy army!

Nilfheim for me. Its been many years since i've played, but there was a period when Niflheim was all but guaranteed to be in my army, even though he almost never carried his own weight. I have no idea why, I just love him so much.

Crixus because it feels like he can punch above his weight class with One Shield Defense. Also, one of my favorite sculpts.

My table sees near constant table time for the Minions and Death Knights from my play group, although that is in an environment with lots of C3V/SoV custom figures being run. Aubriens are also popular because people like chain hitting high numbers when the d20s like us.
