A few pics showing custom terrain elements (and a storyline to tie them together)

Communication with the jungle research outpost was lost, so a team of Microcorp Agents was dispatched to investigate and retrieve the Object of Power artifact....



Little did they know what awaited them...



or what other secrets the island held...



Based on the above concept I built a large island map, here are a few pics:

It turned out a little blurry, but it gets the idea across.



This is the view from the right-side entry.



This is the view from the left-side entry. There are other ways to get inside but it is obvious from many, many turns away what you're trying to do, and slower than using the "doors".



This is the area we called "The Bowl". Most of the fighting took place in this area of the map. The lower-right corner is where the entryways are. The two paths converge, then wind their way through the jungle and up, and over the entry ways. They then proceed on a meandering path back to the outpost (Start Zone 2). Of course, defenders in SZ2 don't have to take the path, they can just jump down into the bowl (or snipe from the edge) to confront attackers.



This is a view looking south from the north. You can see part of the path that leads back to the outpost, as well as an alternate way to get inside.



This is a view of the outpost looking from the west toward SZ2.

This map was fun to play on, but felt like it made the games longer. It probably didn't help that we played mostly 1000pt+ armies.
