Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
So this is something I hear competitive folks talk about a lot, but hasn't ever really resonated with my gameplay experience, so I'd love for you to elaborate. What is it about carried that allows you to get A+ value out of Atom?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
He's a tiedown figure that you can drop along with your own figures. It's really handy to have if you have 50 extra points. You don't ever need to take a turn with him for him to be useful, unlike Wasp.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
But is being able to drop one figure into engagement with one enemy going to be consistently worth more than 50 points?

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
He's nearly always been useful when I play him. But I'm not trying to analyze his use when I've used him so I couldn't tell you an assumed usefulness to cost ratio.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
The idea is that you're not just engaging one dude with one dude. You can now engage a dude (or more) with two dudes for no extra activation cost (and barely any point cost).
Or you can use him to just block of a space for a turn or two. Like say you want to move Ms. Marvel to a spot where she's in range to attack someone, but right next to that space (and just out of her move) is a spot someone could get height on her. Now with Atom that spot is blocked off until the other team gets rid of him, which either means it stays blocked off or they actually invest something in disposing of him (baring the AoE type stuff which is his main counter). Or if you have a figure that likes other friendlies around for whatever reason, Atom can do it. Or like a billion other options. It's all about added versatility by having an extra body that can follow you along for no cost. Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Atom
Gotcha. Doesn't sound like something that's really going to make or break a match, just always be useful on the margins.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Red Tornado I
Reliable figure movement has value and being a Champion now gives this guy more of a home in army construction. Still, life is hard when you're 300 points in a world with Wonder Woman (I) and Martian Manhunter (I).
3/B C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Red Tornado I
Yeah, I think he's really underrated by most just because Wonder Woman is so good at the same price point. Plus she can also move opponents figures against their will, so his main thing is not as special when trying to decide which one to draft. His ability to completely rearrange a small melee or break up a defensive pod can be really useful though.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Red Tornado I
Definitely solid generalist pick that's fun, just lacks a real set in synergy hook beyond his class giving JL markers. 3/B+

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Red Tornado I
He gets a bit slept on, I think. Pretty easily an A figure for me. The way his figure movement works comes with a lot of flex.
