Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Yeah, Apocalypse is basically one where I was trying a lot of experiments for newish mechanics and the overall result doesn't feel like it quite gelled. He's a lot less scary that the character should be, IMO. I wouldn't use him competitively, but one I definitely want to beef up a bit in 2.0 (while also probably narrowing his pool of items).
Probably 2/B-? Hard to build around well, but not completely crappy. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

He's a fun way to pump up lesser used cheap Mutants like Nightcrawler I and stuff, could definitely feel more actively menacing though.

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Here's one I want a do-over on. Fun concepts, but too tough to use together in practice.
The T-Rex, Pterosaur, and Cheetah are all fine on their own as fillers. The Bear isn't worth it, because Maul is a stupid ability that's too hard to pull off. Beast Boy proper is nice in theory, but just isn't worth adding onto his forms. They don't have enough utility to take multiples of them and Beastie's healing isn't really worth it since his forms aren't really the crux of your team at any point. Beast Boy 2 C Beast Boy (Bear) 3 D- Beast Boy (Cheetah) 3 B- Beast Boy (Pterosaur) 3 C+ Beast Boy (T-Rex) 3 B C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Dino-Bite is one of my favorite power names despite never (as far as I can remember) successfully rolling for it.
Would you make him just one card or just make them work together better? |

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Probably the latter. Changeling already does the one card angle well. I might let someone else take on the conversion challenge, though. I'm sure there are folks with ideas of how to do it more elegantly and effectively.

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
I am confused. A 2 C and 3s ranging from D- to B? Is this what you meant?

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Yeah, what I wrote is what I meant.
Beast Boy gets a 2 because he's pretty hard to use effectively in armies. The others get 3's because they're all fine as plug-ins, but nothing you would build around. Beast Boy gets a C because he's average. He'll play OK by himself as a filler that can heal, you just won't be able to maximize him. The Bear is a filler but bad because its only power is a stinker. The Cheetah is the cheapest and its ability is a potential auto-wound, so it's fine. There are better options for that level of filler, but he's not terrible. The Pterosaur is twice as much as the Cheetah and arguably less helpful unless you have some ground pounders who want some cheap flying, so C+ there. The T-Rex probably has the most offensive potential of the bunch, so he gets a B. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
I tried a design where each other Beast Boy added to the main BB's Life number as a reason to draft a good amount or destroying a form as a replacement for healing or something like that. Could definitely just use a rework if not a 2nd forms design.

Re: C3G Unit Discussion - SSE S1 ; Part 2
Maybe replace Beast Boy Bear forms Maul power with something like Run or Reload?
