Gluing - Is there a tutorial - what to use and how?

Per title of the thread.

I saw one image on here where the fellow put a robot's arms on a soldier figure (but can't find that thread again).
For similar applications -

What is the proper kind of adhesive to use? Any pointers for using it.

Any kind of super glue will work just fine. there is some plastic glue you can get from the hobby stores that works very well.

Just about any kind of "super glue" will work. I use Liquid Nails Perfect Glue 2. But I've used other kinds before.

the only "name brand" I can recall is Zap it, and Citadel. They both have a "super glue", and a plastic glue that work great.

Stick to the transparent glues, don't use Elmers white glue, or tacky glue, or paste, or wood glue or something else. Nice clear super glue.

Nu?
Tell me more --
Do you just sit there holding the new bodypart to the body?
I can't figure out how you'd clamp these things
(look, I'm used to working with big pieces of steel and rivets - and this is like the complete opposite here !! )

Yesterday I did my first bit of this (and I indeed was using "Super Glue" (TM) ) - gluing a new figure to a stand - it by no means attached anywhere near right away. I can't imagine how I'd do something more detailed.

You will put just a little bit of glue on the main body of the miniature you are holding, and then hold the other piece carefully where you want it to go.

Here is a tutorial I have on my site, not very pic heavy for this. If you need me to be more clear and add pictures. I will.

Get this glue at the bottom.
It works great, and quick on plastics.

Get the plastic glue.

Is this it? http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=15362

If so, yeah it's nothing more than plain old superglue.

Just don't soak your figure in it... too much can make the plastic a bit brittle.

You just need to remember that it doesn't take a lot of super glue to make a strong bond. As long as the pieces being joined touch each other on flat surfaces (or fit together properly), it won't take much super glue and should be completely dry within 15 seconds at the most.

I found that for larger pieces with areas that weren't as smooth at the joint that Superglue Gel worked really well. It has a thicker consistency and tends to float over gaps a little better. As far as the drying time goes, I remember having to hold pieces for almost a full minute for them to secure...but i was working with metal minis at the time.
