Colorado Winter Throwdown 2022/12/03
Colorado Winter Throwdown Heroscape Tournament
Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 armies will be provided for new players; please let us know if you will need armiesNew players, newcomers, and spectators are all welcome to come participate in a few hours of playing the greatest board game of all time. We have two signup sheets: Sheet A for new players who just want to learn the game or play casually, and Sheet B for players who want to participate in the tournament. Time: Setup maps at 10am, players report in at 10:30am, games start at 11am Location: Advantage Games, Northglenn, ColoradoPrice: FREE Prizes: If you stay to the end of the event you will get to select something from the prize table. If you bring something for the prize table, you will have the option of making an additional selection. Order of prize selection is done based on player record in the event. Suggested prize value is $15-$30. Army Requirements: - Armies should be no more than 350 points (using Delta+ rules) with no more than 13 figures - Armies cannot contain more than 10 figures from the same army card - C3V and SoV figures are allowed (see links below) - Marvel figures are not allowed (with the exceptions of Spider-Man and Venom) Format: Scraps with Delta+ - Before the game, players roll off with the D20. The player rolling the highest gets a choice: They can deploy first or be granted a +8 to the first initiative roll of the game. - Whoever deploys first will place a single card's worth of figures on any empty spaces on the map not adjacent to any opponent's figure. Figures may not be placed on glyphs. Players will alternate this placement. - When placing squads, each squad figure placed that turn must be within three clear sight spaces of all other squad figures placed that turn. - Each match will be limited to no more than 45 minutes in length. Description updated with more location, more details, and the idea of having a dedicated space for newer players (so they can take the time to learn the game without being overwhelmed by a timer and a tournament format).
Also, maps list updated, though it hasn't been refined yet. , I have several spare heroes that I don't need, complete with cards: Ana Karithon, Brandis, Darrak Ambershard, Eltahale, Erevan, Evar Scarcarver, Feral Troll, Frost Giant, Greater Ice Elemental, Ogre Pulverizer, Ogre Warhulk, Rhogar, Sahuagin Raider, Sharwin, Shurrak, Tandros Kreel, Torin.
Would your group like one for its prize table at the tournament?!  If so, give me your shipping name and address — and tell me which one you'd like — and I'll get the fig and card mailed off to you.

Thanks to the generosity of multiple people, for this event (and likely the next several after) if you stay to the end of the event then you will get to take home a prize if you want one. If you bring something for the prize table you will have the option to make a second selection from the table as well.

Thanks again to @Typhon2222 for his generous donation to the prize table! Moltenclaw went to a good home. I thought the event was another success. The only thing I would do differently would probably be shorter rounds for even more games.
