Just finished Reaper Man. Am now on Colour of Magic, The.

And yes, I enjoyed Reaper Man very much. Did it make sense? Eh. Was it a good read? Hellzyeah*.

*Hellzyeah is a common euphemism for "yes, definitely, without question" in the shadier sections of Ankh-Morpork. The use of this phrase is an excellent way to not only endear oneself to the lower portions of the common denominator, but also to warn those higher-thinking mortals that the user should be avoided like, oh, let's say the Plague.

Environmentalists make great compost.

I read the colour of magic and enjoyed it. I am glad I started in the right place. I have been looking for a list like this for a while. So thanks for posting it.

I would recomend

Soul Music
Going Postal (Read this one!!)
Theives of Times (Working on this one for the second time)

Do not read Mort though! It was horrible!

I would recommend reading the books in order, especially if you think you are going to continue reading the series. The first few books are fairly short, making for quick reads which help get you immersed in Discworld. Also, there are some references to prior storylines in subsequent books, which makes reading them in order a little more enjoyable. However, these references are not critical to the stories (except Witches Abroad should be read before Lords and Ladies, as noted in the intro to Lords and Ladies). I've read the first 14 in the last year and enjoyed every one, especially those where Death is frequently in the stories. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

One in a million chances tend to come up nine times out of ten.

Re: Terry Pratchett...

Evening all, a little off topic from Heroscape, but if there are any Terry Pratchett fans out there, please take a look at the website I am working on...

www.terrypratchett.weebly.com

It is a work in progress, with launch aimed towards the end of May. It will contain stories that Terry wrote for the Bucks Free Press newspaper in the 1960s - they haven't been republished since, so this is all quite exciting!!!

That is all, let 'scaping resume!

Yep, Death has that sort of dry, dare I say morbid, sense of humor. I love the line about a "NEAR VIMES EXPERIENCE" in Thud!.
