Oh. I didn't see the obsidian underneath. I thought the water was ontop of the lava without 'obsidian-izing' it.

No, not a bug, if you look under the water you'll see that its really dark, that's because its obsidian. When water is placed on a standing pool of lava, it turns the lava into obsidian.

Ive got 4 worlds started right now. The first world Im keeping on Peaceful just to build things. My second world Im keeping on Normal and trying to build an Island fortress. The 3 world I finally got snow and my 4th world is all going to be done in the caves. The caves in my 4th world are MASSIVE. I found one entrance that took me pretty deep. It was rather scary trying to make the place safe enough to stay in, but I did find a nice pocket of diamond and a humongous lava pool But there is lots of tunnels connected that I need to close up so its safe to explore for more diamonds. The creepers have gotten me more times than I can count. Im trying to get others to quit the stupid Facebook games and start playing this. Its so much more fun!

You should build the cave world under your fortress in world 2, go exploring till you find a snow biome in world 2 and connect it to your fortress by minecart, and since the fortress is on an island, build all the other things on the main land and switch to peaceful if its easier. That way you can have one massively awesome world and you can tour the whole place to people. Its definitely more impressive to have everything in one world.

Hey guys, here's my Minecraft house after about a week of play.

Spoiler Alert!

The entrance to Castell Corzan.

Going right from the last picture takes you to the entrance to Operation Submarine, a side project of mine used to experiment with underwater housing.



Within Operation Submarine.



Going left from the second picture, and up a flight of stairs, takes you to my well.



Up another flight of stairs, and to the left, is my greenhouse.



And interior detail.



The main attraction, my house.



Inside.



The entrance to the cave system.



Down the stairs, to the Hub, my underground base of operations.



The Hub. Complete with workbench, large chest, and three furnaces. Also decorated with paintings.



Mining Shaft Alpha, level 1. It goes down for three or four levels.



Above MS Alpha is a skylight designed to bring light to the lower levels of the Earth.



In the lowest levels of MS Alpha lies an obsidian mine. Sadly, I haven't found any diamond yet.



Again outside, we see another path leading up the mountain.



Hmm...



It leads to the castle on the mountain you saw in the first picture.





Another tunnel leads to my house.

A new road! It leads from the castle to...




Here! A small outpost, near to my spawnpoint, so I have somewhere to stay if I respawn while it's dark. The stairs leading into the rock on the left leads to a small cave with a workbench.



The glass inside creates a skylight that leads down to MS Alpha. Sadly, after taking this picture, I accidently clicked, leading to a fall to my death below. (I was able to get all my stuff back though. )
