Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I mean, I get liking some of the worst seasons of new Who. It's lucky the Capaldi era introduced Missy, or it might've been a complete waste in my book (though he does get significantly better when Bill replaces Clara).
Clara's ... hot, I guess. She rates under Martha for me in terms of companions, though (poor Martha - just wasn't given much to work with). C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I think a lot of it has to do with S8 being a pretty rough start. I think they miscalculated on how to write a Doctor that has more rough edges but is still likeable; sometimes Twelve is brilliant, but he often just comes off as the worst of BBC Sherlock and the 11th Doctor combined. Most of the episodes are solid, but the episodes that suck reaaaally suck and have our main characters coming off really bad, especially the disaster that is Kill the Moon. And Clara...I like my new Who to be more focused on character drama (see S5, my favorite season) so I don't hate her, but I do get why people do. They try really hard to tell you she's the most important companion evaaar, and the way she is written often makes the Doctor feel like a side character in his own show. But I still find her a big improvement over S7 Clara, whose personality was...uh...being competent? Overall I think S8 is one of those things where it's pretty good at what it sets out to do, but what it sets out to do just isn't something everybody is going to enjoy. I think they made big course corrections in S9, and I absolutely love that season. I love how Capaldi's laid-back punk rock Doctor, and Heaven Sent is probably the best Who episode ever. The show is still totally about the Doctor and Clara's relationship, but I don't think a show being about its 2 main characters is a bad thing. The only thing I really dislike is the finale where they undo Clara's death and reward her with virtual immortality and her own TARDIS. So much wrong with that, but I think I've rambled long enough. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
Dang, spoilers.
I certainly lost some interest after Karen left. No one shines like Amy Pond. And the best episode is absolutely when Frankenstein rips apart a Dalek. |

I love the Ponds but it's one of those situations where I feel like they did everything they could do with the characters. Karen Gillan is great, I even watched the new Jumanji for her. So you haven't even seen Missy? She's an amazing character. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
Yes. Missy is the best thing about the Capaldi era.
He did warm up to me some, and I enjoyed the last season with Bill especially (as well as the superhero episode in the season before that, I believe). Clara just isn't my cup of tea. All those storylines with her boyfriend were the worst. And that one with the mummy on the train? Bleech. Looking forward to experiencing 13th Doc some time this summer. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I really like this idea of Chaotic defense, any suggestions for a figure to use, or how many points she might be worth?
Thanks! Quote:
