Productive Use of a Snow Day

Well... it was freaking cold here yesterday and it was a snow day for my son (and me since I'm a teacher in the district).

So, we busted out the terrain pieces and made some armies and battled for about an hour or so.

I used points to kinda figure out balanced armies (do they still work for the basic game) and we had at it. My son took lotsa tough things and I had lotsa cheap stuff. I won with some unlucky dice rolls, but I think he learned some stuff from his loss. Maybe I'll clean off the dining room table and haul everything upstairs to play. The basement floor is really cold after awhile.

I've been slowly introducing advanced rules into the game. I can't wait until he can actually read the cards and I can play the advanced rules. That will be more fun.

Work hard, play harder!

Well... ours was really a colder than hell day. It was -11 (with a windchill of MUCH colder).

Not much snow though... atleast not in town. Just really, really cold.

Hey KingZombie, I teach in Neenah, and also benefitted from the same snow day. Unfortunately, my wife was down with the whole stomach flu thing, so we didn't get any games in. I have a 5-year-old who likes playing with the advanced rules, but I still have to help him out a bit. He's learning, though.

No signature here. Just keep moving on.

Ditto...-10 is a fairly normal cold winter day. Yesterday with the wind it was -25 and so cold is was stupid to be outside.

I'm in Michigan, right across the river from Canada. Gets pretty cold here, too. But yep, after so many years you get used to it.

Except for Gdawg4 in Winterpeg, the temperatures aren't that cold. you have Americans using farenheit & Canadians using celsius. -11F is -24C
