NAME = THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD STORY CARD POINTS = ??? STORY REQUIREMENTS = - At least one Unique Hero in your army. - At least one Unique Hero in an opponent's army. STORY SETUP = At the start of the game, choose a Unique Hero that you control to be The Thing. Secretly write down the Unique Hero. Start the game with 12 red Imitation Markers, with 6 being Confirmed Imitation Markers and 6 being False Imitation markers. STORY RULES = PERFECT IMITATION If The Thing would be destroyed by receiving wounds, reveal the identity of The Thing to your opponent and you may choose to take control of one Unique Hero an opponent controls with a Confirmed Imitation Marker on its army card. Any Unique Hero with a Confirmed Imitation Marker on its army card is also considered The Thing. MAKING COPIES If an opponent’s Unique Hero either: • would receive one or more wounds from an attack from The Thing or a figure you control; or • would be the only figure adjacent to The Thing that does not have an Imitation Marker or is controlled by you, you may place an Imitation marker face down on that Unique Hero’s army card. When placing an Imitation Marker, place a False Imitation Marker if the attacking or adjacent figure is not The Thing and either a False or Confirmed Imitation Marker if the attacking or adjacent figure is The Thing. If all figures on the battlefield are either controlled by you or have Confirmed Imitation Markers, take control of all figures with Confirmed Imitation Markers. DRAWING BLOOD If an opponent’s figure receives one or more wounds from a figure you do not control, the player who controlled the attacking figure may flip one Imitation Marker on that opponent’s figure’s card face up. If it is a False Imitation Marker, nothing happens. If it is a Confirmed Imitation Marker, you immediately gain control of that figure and its army card. Finally drafted The Thing!
The powers are there, but not sure what to call the markers, Blood Samples, Suspicion markers, idk. I was also thinking of making them weak to fire, but it seemed unnecessary. I'd love any feedback or ideas. |

It's definitely a bit lengthy. I agree it might be worth seeing if any of the powers can be shifted to the Conditions side.
It's very complex, and I think I'd need to play a game to really get a feel for how it works. Is Drawing Blood meant to have your opponent's figures attacking themselves, like the blood test scene from the movie? If so, I think there needs to be some sort of "reward" to discovering the Thing. Oh and btw, the Story Card thing did pass, along with some very minor changes to the terminology/rules of the cards themselves. Look for that to be announced/rolled out fairly soon. |

NAME = DEAN WINCHESTER SECRET IDENTITY = N/A SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = SLAYER PERSONALITY = ARROGANT LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 4 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = ??? THE FAMILY BUSINESS At the beginning of the game choose one other Unique Hero that you control with the Class of Slayer, Lawman, or Investigator to be Dean’s Partner. All Demon, Undead, Creature, and Lycanthrope figures and figures with the Magical Defense special power roll 1 fewer defense dice against normal attacks from Dean and his Partner, or 2 fewer defense die if Dean's Partner is Sam Winchester. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Dean, you may immediately take a turn with his Partner. CARRY ON WAYWARD SON Once per game, if Dean were to receive enough wounds to be destroyed, instead of removing him from the battlefield, place him on any empty space in your starting zone and remove all wound markers from this card. Awesome designs!
Carry on My Wayward Son is perfect, Man Of Letters is a bit specific in terms of what it's referencing, but there's been like 15 seasons so you're not going to get a broadly sweeping version of the characters easily. I think the idea of Undead killers and Monster hunters is just Slayer now since Blade got changed, that'd be the only main thing to fix, I'd LOVE to play these. |

Making them Lawmen feels off. They impersonate them but they are not out there serving the public unless it involves their hunt.

Here is what l had. Could use more tweaks now that some things have changed with VDO rules and maybe a switch to Slayers.

True, but whenever they are around lawmen they usually are impersonating lawmen because of their wanted status. Also they have voluntarily worked with lawmen on several occasions, so thematically I think it makes sense. I wouldn't be opposed to dropping it if it was needed to add say a glyph carry power for both of them. I could see Sam starting with the Demon Blade and Dean starting with the Colt pistol. Although I think the Impala might be a better source for equipment glyphs given the trunk space.

I would go more towards a team up thing with a Lawman if you want to go that direction.
Maybe choose a Lawman that gets to move when they move. Working in the Colt and the Demon Blade would be cool. Lots of fun options. |
