Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
NAME = INFINITY GAUNTLET
SUBTITLE = INFINITY GEM CONTROL EQUIPMENT GLYPH This figure may also equip Infinity Equipment Glyphs. When an Infinity Equipment Glyph is equipped by this figure, this glyph immediately gains the special powers of the Infinity Equipment Glyph and the Infinity Equipment Glyph is destroyed. This glyph cannot be chosen for any special power on any Army Card or glyph and cannot be removed from the card of this figure by any special power on any Army Card or glyph unless it would be lost by this figure receiving wounds or being destroyed. If this figure would lose this glyph by receiving wounds, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 7 or higher, this figure does not lose a glyph this turn. Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
Just making this nice and simple. I didn't want to make it overpowered and I still wanted opponents to be able to knock away glyphs (and even the gauntlet itself if you knock away all the infinity glyphs first). Last edited by quozl; April 14th, 2013 at 10:06 PM. |

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
You should probably include what happens if you roll 8 or more (i.e. that you don't lose any of the glyphs). Should be interesting. At this point, it's really only something that would make sense for scenario play if you created a scenario with all the Infinity Glyphs on the map. I doubt in most games that units would be able to even collect them all before the end of the game, though.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
This figure may additionally equip up to 6 different Infinity Equipment Glyphs at the same time. If this figure would lose a glyph and has one or more Glyphs of Infinity equipped, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 7 or lower, select one of the Glyphs of Infinity at random to be lost. If you roll 8 or higher, this figure does not lose a Glyph this turn.
Although I'm not convinced you need a d20 roll--why shouldn't the gems be knocked out of the gauntlet? I understand that the gauntlet can't be lost until the gems are out of it, so what about This figure may additionally equip up to 6 different Infinity Equipment Glyphs at the same time. If this figure would lose a glyph and has one or more Glyphs of Infinity equipped, select one of the Glyphs of Infinity at random to be lost. This figure cannot lose this glyph while it has one or more Glyphs of Infinity equipped. |

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
That's how I originally had it SirG but I wanted the Gauntlet to be able to hold onto the glyphs somewhat (it does grant omnipotence after all!) While I think knocking gems off the gauntlet is fun, I wanted the gauntlet to be worth obtaining so I devised the 20-sided die compromise.

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
What happens if shadow theif chooses to steal this glyph instead of one of the gems? Or Superboy destroys it?

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
Good question. Maybe some language like this?
While this glyph and an additional Infinity Glyph are equipped, this glyph cannot be unequipped or destroyed by any special power or glyph. |

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
Good stuff.
And I definitely favor the D20 roll. In most cases, it's going to be extremely difficult to collect all of those gems to begin with! C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
One thing, though... in the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline, they beat him by taking the WHOLE gauntlet. I don't think I've ever seen someone knock individual gems off.
I think it makes for more interesting gameplay, but thematically is sort of unjustified. How do we feel about that? I'd also like to add back in the "A figure equipped with the Infinity Gauntlet and at least two Infinity Equipment Glyphs is considered an Event Hero." I think that's a cool thematic touch. Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
The problem with making him an Event Hero is that he then can't equip glyphs.

Re: Glyph of Infinity Gauntlet - Design Phase
Well, then we can add language saying he can. Apocalypse did.
I can see how that might be too much for what's essentially a theme thing - is that something anyone else is interested in, or is it just me? JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!
