All enemy figures without the Fearless or Valiant personality within 4 clear sight spaces of All For One subtract 1 from their Attack and Defense numbers.

IMPACT RECOIL
After All For One rolls defense dice against an adjacent normal attack, you may reveal an “X” Order Marker on this card to count all excess shields as unblockable hits on the attacking figure. You may then move the attacking figure up to 2 spaces, ignoring leaving engagement attacks.

All For One gets to share a lot of special attacks here. Double Optic Destruction should be pretty powerful.

The JL slow-rolls up, trying to stay out of range of the Mutants and AFO as they move up. Cyclops snipes a couple wounds onto Hawkwoman. All Might rushes Storm and deals her a couple wounds. AFO uses Optic Destruction to one-shot Batman with a 5-skull roll. All Might takes out Storm. Cyclops uses his Optic Destruction to wound All Might and moves Forester forward. All Might and Green Arrow take out Cyclops.

AFO kills Green Arrow. All Might unleashes a mighty 7-skull attack which deals 5 wounds to AFO. AFO uses Lightning Tempest SA to bring All Might to 4 wounds then kill him, which activates Go Beyond, Plus Ultra, so All Might doesn’t actually die and gets an extra turn instead. All Might kills AFO with that extra turn. Firestar can’t roll a skull and dies to the JL soon after.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Hawkwoman (2 wounds) and All Might (4 wounds) win.

Again the idea here is pairing AFO with some strong special attacks. Aang’s SA is versatile, while Green Goblin’s SA can be used before AFO’s normal attack. Stealing Cap’s Shield Throw will also be nice.

AFO deals a few wounds to Cap early on. Avatar Bending with a permanent defense reduction is powerful, and AFO’s defenses are strong with the attack drop from Terrifying Presence. AFO kills Cap while Falcon and Bucky bring him to 5 wounds. AFO’s Impact Recoil puts 3 wounds onto Bucky. AFO kills Winter Soldier then Falcon. Black Widow finally brings AFO down. Black Widow brings down Goblin before Aang finishes her off.

AFO leads out, hoping to do as much damage as possible before falling, while using Omni-Man’s and Siryn’s SAs as needed.

AFO brings Human Torch to 4 wounds, but then Torch disengages and runs away, choosing to be a battery to pump up Thing’s attack. Reed locks AFO down. Neither Reed nor Torch choose to attack AFO while engaged, fearing the autowounds from Impact Recoil. AFO brings Reed to 4 wounds before Thing takes him down. The Fan4 easily take out Siryn afterwards. Omni-Man can’t kill Reed quick enough, and though he finally does, he’s unable to take out Johnny afterwards and Thing’s massive double attack of 10 does him in.

I wanted this match to have lots of special attacks for AFO to steal. AFO can also use Goku’s Super Kamehameha as a crowd clearer.

Leading with Goku this time. Goku shreds the Rogues, taking out Heat Wave, Double Down, Rainbow Raider, and Weather Wizard before finally being brought down. AFO takes out Magenta, then the other Rogues easily fall.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I like how he plays, it feels like an appropriate play style for the character. Terrifying Presence is a brutal support ability, but I got more mileage out of using it to support AFO himself instead of other figures, since AFO is probably your best attacking figure anyway.

Seems in the right ballpark, points-wise. AFO shreds midlevel heroes without a way to get around his stat debuffs. But he’s vulnerable against other heavy hitters.
