The Book of Corsair
The Book of Corsair C3G MARVEL WAVE 28 MARVEL COSMIC Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Critical Mass set. Its model number and name are #022-024 / Corsair. Its model number and name are #208 / Major Christopher Summers. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Major Christopher Summers's life changed in an instant when, on a private flight with his wife Katherine Anne and his two sons Scott and Alex, his plane was attacked by an alien starship from the Shi'ar Empire. Only finding one working parachute on the plane, Katherine Anne gave it to her eldest son Scott and, instructing him to hold on tight to his brother, pushed her sons out of the plane to save their lives. Unknown to Scott and Alex who believed their parents had died in the crash, Christopher and Katherine Anne were teleported aboard the starship and taken to the Shi'ar Imperial Throneworld. Christopher attempted to break free and save his wife, but as punishment the mad emperor D'Ken murdered her in front of Christopher. Christopher was then imprisoned in the Slave Pits of Alsibar, where he met fellow prisoners Ch'od, Hepzibah, and Raza Longknife. Together they formulated and successfully executed a plan to escape, stealing a ship in the process. To get revenge against the Shi'ar Empire the new team began pirating Shi'ar starships, being careful to never hurt innocents in the process. Soon they became known as the legendary crew of space pirates, the Starjammers. By Viegon _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
NAME = CORSAIR
SECRET IDENTITY = CHRISTOPHER SUMMERS SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = PIRATE PERSONALITY = DASHING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 180 QUICK SHOT SPECIAL ATTACK Range 5. Attack 3. Figures roll 2 fewer defense dice when defending against this special attack. After Corsair attacks with this special attack, he may move up to 3 spaces. If Corsair is engaged when he begins this move, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks. SWORDPLAY If Corsair attacks an adjacent figure with his normal attack and at least one skull is rolled, he may attack an adjacent figure again. He may continue attacking adjacent figures, rolling 1 fewer attack die for each subsequent attack, until you fail to roll a skull. BOARDING PARTY After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Corsair, if he inflicted one or more wounds to an opponent's figure with an attack this turn, you may take an immediate turn with any other Pirate Hero you control and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control. Figures taking a turn with Boarding Party add 1 to their Move number.

We hammered this one out pretty good in my design thread, so I feel pretty good right now. If anyone has any thoughts though, post away. C3G: Books & Online Figure Request

Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
I love the design, looks great!
I'm not sure about Resolute for a personality though; it's not bad, but not perfect. What about something like Dashing or Charming? C3G: Taking Superheroes to a Whole New Level! Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
Yeah, really digging this design. Only suggestion would be to increase his life to 5 or even 6, or bump the def. up to 5 as a reflection of his hi tech sci-fi armor/shielding. 4 def./4 life doesn't last very long and his bonding and swordplay combo requires him to be in the thick of things where he will be open to attacks. 4 def./4 life figures with no defense or wound reduction special powers are usually most effective staying back out of the fight for a while in order to make use of their special powers before they get KOed.
Oh, and FYI I took pic of the figure and posted them in the mini depository a few week back if you want to link those for the art team now. |

Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
Good insight YK. I guess it comes down to what point cost Corsair should be.
Right now he will be a very affordable leader of Pirates. A cloud can change its semblance, yet retain its will With the intimacy of destruction, One knows what it is to be alive The empty sky holds no reflection, for sorrow - Eslo Rudkey |

Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
I like it a lot.
Crazy idea: To make it more dynamic, what if Boarding Power was variable based on the number of wounds he caused? i.e. a turn with one other Pirate you control for each wound he causes? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Corsair - Design Phase
Agreed on Dashing. That's perfect for Corsair.
I like Bats idea, with a cap of 3 Pirates per turn. ".... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above Cambridge if sometimes in its box of sky lavender and cornerless, the moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy" |
