Billtog's Super Customs
Hello, all. These past two weeks I've been working hard on learning how to make custom terrain. Thanks to fantastic tutorials by Chicano and Renquist, I was able to learn the basics. I made a few silly terrain pieces loosely following their tutorials, and decided to set out on my own. I made these bridges out of dowels and craft sticks. Sorry for the poor photographs, I'm still learning the basics of photography too.
Let me know what you think. One-Hex Two-Hex Three-Hex The whole family On the battlefield In action You might not be able to tell, but there's actually a very nice red tint to these (if I do say so myself). Here's the underside of these babies. They lock quite nicely onto hexes and are extremely sturdy. Yes, that is a full bottle of green tea.* These redwood bridges look best with grass or swamp terrain surrounded by trees and with samurai charging across them, just as I intended. I also made some other sorts of bridges and some walls that I will upload later. *Green Tea appears courtesy of Lipton and was not created by me. |

I'm surprised Kaemon Awesome was only in two pics. With that aside, nice bridges! How well do they hold up huge figures?

Excellent bridges, Billtog. They fit in really well with the Heroscape terrain.

The angle of the planks keeps them from moving from side to side, and the length of them keeps them from moving back and forth. I got this idea when I wanted to build a bridge that fit in between rather than on hexes like Renquist, but didn't want to glue them onto the hexes themselves. |
