Engaged? At such a young age!?
Okay heroscapers, I am here to ask about engagement
if a ranged figure is engaged, can he attack figures other than those whom he is engaged with? |

Re: Engaged? At such a young age!?
No. If you are engaged you may only attack figures that you are engaged to.
Special Abilities can still be used against figures that you is not engaged to, though (Poisonous Acid Breath, Rod of Negation, Bolt of the Witherwood, etc.). |

Re: Engaged? At such a young age!?
If a ranged figure is engaged then the target of their normal or special attack must be an engaged figure unless otherwise stated on a special attack. Note that some attacks on adjacent figures may affect non-adjacent figures. For example, Othkurik must target an engaged figure with his Acid Spray Special Attack, but the two additional figures affected may or may not be adjacent to Othkurik - so long as they ARE adjacent to the targeted figure. Also, there are Special Abilities that are NOT Special Attacks - like Braxas' Poisonous Acid Breath. Special Abilities are not limited by engagement - only by the text of the Special Ability.

Re: Engaged? At such a young age!?
I also think it's worth mentioning that some abilities look a lot like an attack, but are not an attack (because they don't have the "Special Attack" words in the name of the ability). Abilities like that do not have to be used on adjacent figures.
An example: Braxas' Poisonous Acid Breath; Braxas can use her Poisonous Acid Breath on a figure she's not engaged with while she is engaged to another figure. EDIT: Ah, I just realized Aldin and Killometer already mentioned this. Thanx Killometer They are done! Version 1.00 is out: Books of HeroScape in pdf format

Re: Engaged? At such a young age!?
Can Baraxs use her Poisonous Acid Breath on a figure that she is not engaged with if she is engaged with another figure? Sorry couldn't help it Kill. Actually this answers a question I had at my last tourny. I had a figure engaged with a 10th foot and my opponent targetd an unadjacent figure of min instead. I thought that wasn't allowed but since I didn't have my rule books with me and it was the tournament director I was thinking I was wrong. Nice to know I wasn't for next time.
