PALM TREE
Whenever a special power on an Army Card refers to a Jungle Piece, it refers to Palm Tree as well.

THICK FOLIAGE
When defending against a non-adjacent attack, a small, medium, or large figure adjacent to Palm Tree may roll 1 additional defense die. A figure cannot receive more than 1 defense die from Thick Foliage or Jungle Pieces.

FALLING PALM TREE
If an Palm Tree is destroyed at any point during your turn, before removing it from the Battlefield you must choose 2 spaces in a straight line from that Palm Tree. Each player rolls 1 unblockable attack die against each figure they control on these spaces whose bases are not higher than the height of that tree. Huge figures are not affected.

Very close game played with Ericth74. Black Lanterns win it late when Freddy died fast when he was placed on the board. Trees played a different roll this game. We wanted to test to see if they would have much effect in a mostly melee game. Trees were used as protection by the Black Lanterns from Freddy if there wasn't any opponents to attack, they would attack Palm Trees and Jungle Plants. There were no negative effects of the DOs.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): 1 Uncommon Black Lantern with 2 wounds and 2 life left.

Damage Dealt: 3 wounds to Superman

Palm Tree: Did not apply this game

Thick Foliage: Superman and Wonder Woman used the defensive bonus whenever possible against the X-Men

Falling Palm Tree: By the end of the game all 6 trees fell doing 3 wounds to Superman. Trees were proactively taken down by the x-men to avoid giving out the bonus to the JLA.


Fun game played with Ericth74. X-men started out by moving forward as Superman bolted across the board. Superman hung around trees to get bonus defense, X-men killed the trees and dropped them on him doing wounds every time, which was easier than wounding Superman. Superman took out Beast and Angel but was dropped by a tag team of Iceman and Cyclops in the beginning of round 3. X-men knocked down the other trees before Batman and Wonder Woman to take advantage of them. Wonder Woman went on a hot streak killing Cyclops and Professor X. Iceman hit her with his special attack and removed an order marker and did it again the next turn which left her wide open. Once she went down Jean and Iceman made short work of Batman.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Iceman had 3 wounds and 1 life left, Jean Grey had 1 wound and 3 life left.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: The Palm Tree DO fits in fine. Its powers and easy to understand and aren't overpowering. They fit right in with the other DO's C3G currently has. I wouldn't change anything.

The Palm Tree was fun but not super impactful. It was a nice option to have though. It definitely influenced my strategy as I tried to maneuver across the field and I had to consider if my opponent would try and drop it on my figures or not and if I should just fell it before they could.

Palm Trees: Didn’t have much of an impact on any game. Sometimes they were attacked, but rarely. Made me more hesitant to be around them, but that’s fine offers a little risk/reward for their defense buff. Beforehand I wanted there to be no falling damage, since I enjoy that the Jungle Plant kept the bushes the same, but gave them life/defense, and wanted the same for the trees, but in actual games, the falling damage didn’t change gameplay a whole lot.

Thanks for the tests @Karat and @toyhandle The Palm Trees played out as expected. Some risk but not game changing. I really wanted to finish off the original Heroscape objects, didn't make sense that everything else was destructible except the Palm Trees. I think this is the last one.

Lol, forgot I didn't even invent the concept. I lifted it from Ark's Animated Vines, which have a plural version of the power.

Don't want to interrupt voting, but wanted to bump this before I forgot. First power should probably be called Jungle Plant.
