Grandma's House Battlefields
On Christmas Eve (and days before) we have family coming over to my Grandma's house. There will be kids between 6 and 12 years of age, and I hope to set up a medium sized battlefield and teach them the basic game. Does anyone have a battlefield suited for this? I want it to use grass, rock, sand, water, and trees. No other expansions or swamp. And the board will need to be able to handle different numbers of players. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I don't want anyone telling me to make one by myself, because I don't have access to virtualscape (don't ask) and I have a game set up. EDIT: Heroscapers.com should have a couple "Training Battlefields." For teaching the basic and advanced games to newcomers. Before you criticize some one, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away and have their shoes. |

Try some of Nadi's maps. He has a lot of small symetrical maps.

This is my Newbie Trainer Map:
Start zones, glyphs etc, change based on what I plan on "teaching" them... I usually give one player: Krav Carr Syvaris and the other player: Airborne (I start them on the board for the newbie factor) Drake Raelin |

Make it yourself...you dont need virtualscape to make a board..use the actual pieces...if you want to make instructions so you can recreate it you can draw the map on hexagonal paper..there are several places online where you can download it for free

But since you don't have MarvelScape, won't do you much good. Visit the SHS Map Codex! (Codex downloadable into a spreadsheet for easy self-sorting) Note to self: One ladder for every TWO levels!!!!!! |

If you do have it then I would suggest Marvelscape as well. With fewer cards, smaller maps, and familliar characters and abilities I think it will be easier, faster, and more fun. Especially for the younger ones.
HeroScape is back Baby! Whoo Hoo!!!

Every time I read the title of this thread I picture an old gray haired woman in a rocking chair humming softly to herself while patiently knitting herself some HeroScape terrain!
Just because you're offended, it doesn't make you right.
