I think Penguin (II) and Kingpin (II) with the Hired Guns and maybe someone like Hun and/or Bodyguards for fillers makes the most sense.

The Synergy list is misleading as it just says Criminals where other's say Criminal Heroes and such. I just happened to have looked earlier.

Probably doesn't need to be a full 1000 point army either. sub 700 is probably best for these guys to have a use but still not get lost.

I feel like we should probably be aping Multiple Man a bit more specifically here? Like, I don't think we even need an SI here - I don't think we've ever had a squad that uses one, actually.

A Criminal squad is fun, so yeah, be interesting to figure out all of the possible synergies there.

That actually helps. The wording was getting a bit churned up trying to figure out when to use Multiplex and when to use Danton Black on the other card.

Yeah, hitting up the other thread, I think you just need to use "Multiplex squad figures" or something like that in the text of the Hero version. I'd drop the SI here and just call them Multiplex.

Triplicate Girl has an SI, and I think she’s ultimately the closer precedent than Madrox here. They’re all copies of Danton Black, right? Like are the Duploids less him than the Prime version?

I might go Multiplex Duploids for the name here, and Danton Black for the SI. But unless I’m missing some theme (quite possible), I don’t really get the argument for not having an SI.

Seems like the name should be Duploids, since we're talking about 3 of them, and the SI should be Multiplex (or the same SI as the UH Multiplex). One word is plural, and one is singular. The squad is plural, the ID is singular since they are all copies of the same person.

The situation is that it's been portrayed...not consistent. Sometimes they get smaller the more duploids he creates. Sometimes the duploids are self reliant and sometimes they are not.

I kind of hopes include do both by first creating a squad that could play as a complete character. So if you just drafted the squad then either that squad was Danton Black...at least in someway. Either one of them was the original or none of them were and thundered self sufficient duploids.

However when you throw in the Unique Hero version it's the other extreme. The squad is the slave unit Duploids and the unique is the master prime Black. When he goes down they all go down.

Make sense to anyone but me?

No, I get the logic there. It's like Multiple Man - even if it's the common version, that IS him.

So I think in that case, yeah, Triplicate Girl is good precedent for going with Danton Black as the SI here. We can word the Unique version like this:

DUPLOIDS
You may draft one other Danton Black card that is a Squad. If you do, at the start of the game, place all other Danton Black figures on this card.

Sounds good...I think we already know what the hired guns can do so unless using these guys as a screen for hired guns I’m not sure it’s needed.
