Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
NAME = Man-Bat
SECRET IDENTITY = Kirk Langstrom SPECIES = Metahuman UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero CLASS = Creature PERSONALITY = Unstable SIZE/HEIGHT = Medium 5 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 170 FIGHTING FOR CONTROL Before taking a turn with Man-Bat, if there is at least one figure adjacent to him, you must roll the 20-sided die. Subtract 2 from your roll for each Wound Marker on this card. If you roll 2 or lower, Man-Bat cannot move and must attack each adjacent figure exactly 1 time this turn with his normal attack. CLAW CARRY After moving and before attacking with Man-Bat, you may choose a small or medium figure Man-Bat passed over this turn. Place the chosen figure adjacent to Man-Bat, and you may roll one unblockable attack die against the chosen figure. When the chosen figure is moved by Claw Carry, it will not take any leaving engagement attacks. EVASIVE FLYING When Man-Bat starts to fly, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks. When Man-Bat rolls defense dice against an attack from a non-adjacent figure without the Flying or Stealth Flying special power, 1 shield will block all damage, and you may immediately move Man-Bat one space for each shield rolled. This guy is going to be awesome with Frankenstein as you can carry Frank into combat.
Does Claw Carry work when moving via Echolocation Evasion? A cloud can change its semblance, yet retain its will With the intimacy of destruction, One knows what it is to be alive The empty sky holds no reflection, for sorrow - Eslo Rudkey |

Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
Don't forget to notify the Heroes and so forth.
I really like Fighting For Control and Claw Carry; they capture the character nicely and will make for a very fun design. I'm not a fan of Echolocation Evasion being used here though, primarily because it will make him very tough, and I don't think we need three new wordy powers on this card. I'd prefer we cut it and give him Stealth Flying instead, removing that little bit of text from Claw Carry (which will give us the option of reusing Claw Carry without disengagement if we want). Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
I'll wait to see what the general consensus is here, but I'm not against changing it.
Some potential other versions: ECHOLOCATION EVASION 11 Man-Bat never takes leaving engagement attacks, and when a figure that was not within 3 spaces of Man-Bat prior to moving ends its movement within 3 spaces of Man-Bat, you may immediately roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 11 or higher, you may immediately move Man-Bat up to 3 spaces. ECHOLOCATION EVASION Man-Bat never takes leaving engagements, and rolls 2 additional defense dice against non-adjacent attacks. |

Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
If you really want something like that, I'd reuse Evasive Flying. I think he could be fine with just Stealth Flying, though.
Also, Claw Carry should be clarified; is that supposed to be an "anytime he moves on your turn" power like Angel's Swift Carry? |

Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
I'm fine with Evasive Flying or Stealth Flying as well, just throwing out ideas.
I think it should be anytime he moves in general. |

Re: The Book of Man-Bat (Breathing Period)
That would make it quite a bit stronger with a defensive movement power, then.
When the breathing period's up, I'd recommend revising Claw Carry to something like this: Quote:

6 Life seems really high, especially for a Batman villain. Unless he's typically shown being much more durable than most humans, I would drop it to 4 or 5.
