Re: Northstar - Design Phase
REPETITIVE STRIKE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 1. Attack 2. Northstar may attack up to 5 times with this special attack. He must attack the same figure with each subsequent attack. The defending figure may not be moved by any special power on any Army Card. How's that? |

Re: Northstar - Design Phase
That should do it.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT NORTHSTAR - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. PASS - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. PASS - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. PASS - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit to powerful or too weak. PASS - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. PASS - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. PASS - Rolling 10 dice, even 2 at a time, is a blast. - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. PASS - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. PASS - SA very useful against lower-defense Heroes. - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. PASS - when drafted with Aurora. - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. PASS - Engage and use 10-dice SA or fire from range with 5 or 6 dice. Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? YES - What should be the unit's point value? 180 seems spot on. - Give a brief overview. SA useful, but unreliable against high-defense Heroes. Often better to disengage, gain height advantage, and roll 6A.
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? YES - What should be the unit's point value? 180 - Give a brief overview. Single-attack Heroes will almost always go down to the same point total of squaddies. Map: Custom Units: Northstar v Vampire Minions x2 (180) Couldn't withstand the extra Bloodthirsty attacks. Who won and how many wounds did they have? Vampire minions win w/ 4/6 destroyed. R3T3 _____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? YES - What should be the unit's point value? 180 - Give a brief overview. Single-attack Heroes will almost always go done to the same point total of squaddies. Map: Custom Units: Northstar v Civilians x4 (180) Northstar easily gained and kept height, but eventually was swarmed over. Who won and how many wounds did they have? Civilians win w/ 9/16 destroyed. Re: Northstar - Design Phase
None. We're gearing up for state testing, so I've been doing a ton of school stuff--a lot more hours than I originally intended.

Re: Northstar - Design Phase
Working through the Army tests, Twin Light Blast is tearing through the opponents, so I'm recommending the following change:
TWIN LIGHT BLAST If Northstar is adjacent to Aurora and did not use his Supersonic Flying special power this turn, instead of attacking, you may roll the 20-sided die once against each opponent's figure within 3 spaces of Northstar whose Target Point is within clear sight of Northstar, one at a time. If you roll 12 or higher, the affected figure receives a wound. Last edited by SirGalahad; February 24th, 2014 at 02:05 AM. |

Re: Northstar - Design Phase
OK, so 10% lower odds of hitting, significantly smaller aura, but you can do it every turn rather than once per round? Works for me.
