Re: The Book of Stan Lee: Design Phase
No doubt he certainly is an efficient and useful card to draft. It seems the intent, or at least my interpretation of the intent, and the card text are not coming across as the same. He shouldn't be 'bouncing on and off his card' as that wouldn't be a cameo appearance, that would be a re-occurring appearance. My understanding of the intent then is a once per game pop in, save someone from harm, hang around for a few moments during which your opponent can choose to try and eliminate him, then if he survives that brief appearance he disappears but continues to help while no longer being an active participant. I'll try to brush up on the wording to see if I can help clarify the intent as I see it.
CAMEO APPEARANCE Stan Lee does not start the game on the battlefield. Anytime a Unique Marvel Hero you control receives one or more Wound Markers, if Stan Lee is on this card, you may immediately place him on an empty space within two clear sight spaces of that figure and that figure may ignore those wounds. At the end of any round, you may destroy Stan Lee and place this figure on the Army Card of any other Unique Marvel Hero. When Stan Lee is moved with Cameo Appearance, he does not take any leaving engagement attacks. |

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: Design Phase
Good call. I like that change to restrict him a bit.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: Design Phase
I agree with that change.
I am under no illusions that this design will be cheap but I think 150-200 points for a figure that saves a figure from damage once and “essentially” give +1A/+1D to any marvel figure is fairly costed. |

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
So the most competitive thing for testing to figure out is whether True Believer overpowers certain figures with strong defensive powers. I think that's a reasonable thing to check out on the battlefield rather than before we get there. Yodaking's change is enough for me to be happy moving forward. yea

yea, Scarlet Witch and Domino were the two that I'd want to see tested.

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
Hmm, it'd be good to get some more hero buy in. I'd consider tagging some folks to make sure they saw this vote.

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
Yeah, I thought I was one of the only Heroes that wasn't overly enthusiastic about a Stan Lee card when it was first proposed, but I've come around to the idea. Now I'm one of only 3 yea votes. Seems off.

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
Belated abstain from me. May as well go on the record, with some prodding from Bats.
The first power is great. All the wound prevention and re-roll stuff doesn't really make sense to me, though. I don't see the appeal of having him significantly boost Marvel figures. Having Stan Lee in the game is a fun, silly thing. I'd like to have him in the game, but I don't really want to have him in the game in a way that's going to much impact design space. If I ever have to test with Stan, or tone down a Marvel design because of his existence, I think that'll be a little weird. I think a cheap, simple card that could cameo in a lot of armies would have been perfect. A < 60-point Stan Lee is gonna get drafted all the time, just because he's Stan freakin' Lee. This Stan Lee is gonna get drafted when you specifically build around him and want to leverage his Marvel synergy. Designing him as a 150-200 point support figure for a Marvel character of your choice is weirdly taking the focus off Stan himself, and that feels wrong to me. Even accepting the premise that Stan should be providing some Marvel synergy, the way he operates here doesn't feel particularly evocative of Stan's role at Marvel. I might have missed something in the brainstorming, but I don't get what it's meant to reflect. So I don't really love the direction this has taken. I don't feel strongly enough to try to block it, but enough to be disinterested in the outcome. Maybe not the opportune time to chime in with that take, but I was planning on sitting this one out originally. |

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
I think all feedback is relevant feedback! Much better for you to chime in with reasons for lack of enthusiasm than not to speak at all.

Re: The Book of Stan Lee: VOTE for Initial
As I think was evident from when this was being brainstormed, I am totally against this design as I believe it's unthematic to the comic origins but I feel like I should state that here too.
