Custom Unique Squads
I have been thinking of doing a Unique Squad of White Martians from DC, calling them Hyper-clan and having seven members. Is this a fresh concept or sheer craziness? Feel free to express your opions, but please no insults!

Re: Custom Unique Squads
I think a squad of 7 would definately be a first. That's 7 potential attacks in 1 turn...they're going to be pricey, It think.

Re: Custom Unique Squads
They'd be very pricey for one thing. It would be difficult to fit 7 figures in the picture or hitzone boxes on the card.

Re: Custom Unique Squads
I think 7 attacks in one turn might be game breaking. Heroscape already favors squads. I'm not sure we have a need to make them even stronger.

Re: Custom Unique Squads
What is the concept behind a 7 member unique squad of White Martians and calling them Hyper-Clan? Is there a significance behind this, as in a comic version of a 7 member Hyper-Clan of White Martians?
Could you make a common unit of White Martians with 3 members and make them a higher end (and more expensive )White Martian and call them Hyper-Clan? Whereas the regular White Martians could be thought of as Blade Gruts (cheap, low end fighters) and the Hyper-Klan could be like Heavy Gruts (more expensive and more badass). Just some thoughts. Like the others said, 7 activations/attacks on one turn is potentially game breaking, especially since unique squads should be better powered than commons. Marro Drones are a 3 member common unit that can have 9 activations/attacks (if you have that many left on the battlefield), but it's not every turn and automatic, it relies on d20 rolls and may never occur in a game. But when it does, it can be devastating. You wouldn't want that to be possible every turn, or at least I wouldn't. Re: Custom Unique Squads
...or the Ashigaru with Kato is 8, but they are pretty flimsy, cost quite a bit to be effective, and get disrupted by terrain fairly easily.

Re: Custom Unique Squads
I'm not sure why you're trying to avoid the unique hero approach. That seems to be pretty thematically appropriate as they all seem to be quite distinctive compared to each other ...
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

What he said. Maybe do something like the elves where you could take a turn with the leader or with any two of the others within clear sight.

Re: Custom Unique Squads
Yeah, I was struggling with finding a way to make them different from normal White Martians though (the minis) without repainting some hero to look like their alter egos. However, A-Mortal was the one I was having the most difficult time figuring out a mini for and came across Taskmaster tonight, who could do a nice job since he has the skull face in a hood just like A-Mortal.
I had also thought of painting seven white martians in different colors to make them seem similar to their hero design, so maybe I will go that route, IDK.
