Re: The Book of Megatron - Vote On Deck!
It’s 88 degrees here in lovely Alabama, home to C3Gcon 2020? 2021?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Megatron - Vote On Deck!
I'll never understand how a giant robot from space can turn into a tiny handgun with a specific Earth make and model... and yet, here it is.

Similar to how the movies show them scanning Earth vehicles and re-configuring to blend in with their surrounding, in the comics the Ark scanned vehicles and altered the Autobot's vehicle modes to match their current environment before waking them up. I believe the same was done for the Decipticons as they were also on the Ark when it crashed on Earth. The Ark searched for Earth items that contained a similar mass distribution and served a similar function as their Cybertron transformation forms. It's also why Shockwave remained a big giant flying laser cannon, he wasn't on the Ark and had arrived on Earth straight from Cybertron. The Dinobots were also scanned, but in the past when dinosours roamed the Earth. They were fighting Shockwave in the past and all 6 of them fell into a tar pit, where they remained for millions of years. No explanation why they were never updated later though. Also never quite understood how a robot Panther or Bird was suppose to blend in, they don't look like real animals at all. I think those were just more about function of form, rather then being a disguise, I think they may have just had those same forms on Cybertron. Rumble & Frenzy were just robots after all, the tape mode is technically the disguise I suppose. Always liked the Inscecticons though as they were so tiny you wouldn't notice if it were a real or robot bug that flew by you. |

- Weirdly, the Dinobots actually get their alt modes from the dinosaurs of the Savage Land in the Marvel continuity, since they're reformatted 'only' four million years ago. In other continuities it's usually from fossil records or whatnot (or mystical space dinosaur blood). Yeah, Ravage was still a mechanical panther thing on Cybertron, the cassette tape is the alt mode. Though Cartoon Laserbeak was at least sort-of different on Cybertron (don't recall a flashback for Comic Laserbeak off the top of my head) back when the cartoon remembered to think about that kinda thing. Cybertron usually has a lot of animal life for some reason, later continuities connecting Earth and Cybertron more closely (instead of Earth just being a random planet they crash into) makes the whole thing a fair bit less weird. - Anyway, on Megatron: Seems weird we're calling this a Marvel card when he's in the wrong colors for that. Can we get the art photoshoped or something at least? Not that big a deal, but as the transformers guy it does bug me Also, I'd drop the 'energy fail' bit from the bio. That's only just barely a thing in the comics (it's barely a thing anywhere really, it's just a random one-off weapon from the cartoon that keeps getting little homages) and he doesn't have a power referencing it, so it just seems like a weird way to end the bio. Also, technically I believe the weapon is officially called an 'Energon Mace', despite not actually being a mace, not an 'energy fail'.
