Re: The Book of Optional Rule: Throwing Destructible Objects

Seems reasonable. Though it's possible that tiny things might actually be too small to even reliably pick up to throw.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I'd rather go the direction of they wouldn't be worth it to throw (unless they were a special tiny thing like a tiny tank that gets transformed after you throw it).

Like if you threw something tiny it wouldn't hurt itself or anything else, you'd just be moving it.

Any figure with the Super Strength special power may throw Destructible Objects (DOs) with size designations.

Please reference the chart below to see how far Destructible Objects may be thrown:
• Small Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 5 spaces.
• Medium Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 4 spaces.
• Large Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 3 spaces.
• Huge Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 2 spaces.

Either immediately before taking a turn or immediately after taking a turn with an eligible, unengaged figure adjacent to a Destructible Object with an unoccupied exterior, that figure may throw that Destructible Object. A figure can only throw a Destructible Object with this rule set once per turn. That means that if a figure throws a Destructible Object before taking a turn, the same figure cannot throw a Destructible Object after taking the same turn.

To throw a Destructible Object, a figure (with the Super Strength special power) must be on a space adjacent to an unoccupied Destructible Object.
Then:
• Remove the Destructible Object from the battlefield. Even if the Destructible Object is attached to other terrain or a hex space, you may still remove it.
• Place the Destructible Object on an empty space within the number of spaces indicated above according to the object’s corresponding size.
• Roll a number of Attack dice equal to the remaining life points on the Destructible Object’s Army Card once. The thrown Destructible Object and all figures adjacent to the thrown Destructible Object are affected.
• Affected figures (including the Destructible Object) roll defense dice separately.
• When a figure rolls Defense dice against a thrown Destructible Object, determine the defending figure’s height advantage (if any) against the thrown Destructible Object itself, not against the figure that threw it.

Note: Because Throwing Destructible Objects at figures is neither a Normal or Special Attack, special powers and glyphs that specifically work for or against Normal or Special Attacks, or both, cannot be used by a figure when rolling Attack dice for a thrown Destructible Object or when rolling Defense dice against a thrown Destructible Object.

When throwing a Destructible Object that occupies more than one space, all target spaces must be on the same level. No part of the Destructible Object may be farther away from its original placement than the number of spaces indicated in the table above according to the object’s corresponding size.
What if we tweaked the above rules so that the attack dice thrown is equal to the Defense of the DO instead of its remaining Life?

This would change the following:
Battlement 1 -> 4
Ice Rock 1 -> 7
Manhole Cover 1 -> 6
Mole machine 4 -> 8
Parked Car 4 -> 6
Portable Toilet 2 -> 3
Ruined Battlement 1 -> 4
Satellite Dish (no change)
Small Rock Outcrop 1 -> 7
T-Sphere 1 -> 5
Toxic Waste Barrel 2 -> 3

Batmobile 4 -> 6
Carboard Box (no change)
Cyber-Conversion Unit 3 -> 5
Green Central power Battery (no change)
RX-78-2 Gundam 7 -> 6
Spider-Mobile 4 -> 3
Sports Car 3 -> 4

Re: The Book of Optional Rule: Throwing Destructible Objects

So it makes the rules way better to use when we’re already talking about them being casual rules? Not interested.

Re: The Book of Optional Rule: Throwing Destructible Objects

Another thing to consider is moving to a system where you roll unblockables based on remaining life it has (both against the figure it's thrown adjacent to and the DO itself, in that order).

Ultimately I think these would have to become a draftable Event Card to be worth working on going forward. I don't think you're going to get group buy-in on them as being relevant as an optional system.

You could also make attack dice based on size (like 4 for Medium, 5 for Large, 6 for Huge) to make it less swingy.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I like this idea best. Makes it a simple (optional) addition to a casual C3G game.

Write it up! Seems simple enough that it could be turned into an Event Card.

THROWING DESTRUCTIBLE OBJECT RULES
Any figure with the Super Strength special power may throw Destructible Objects (DOs) with size designations.

Please reference the chart below to see how far Destructible Objects may be thrown and how many attack dice they get:
• Small Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 5 spaces and get 2 attack dice.
• Medium Destructible Objects may be thrown up to 4 spaces and get 3 attack dice.
