Can we add to the poll about his carry offering disengage? I just worry that the value of that power might mean he'll never be worth his cost in a GL army (since they're all fliers), and it would suck to not want to play him in a GL army.

I'm with you. I say it should be just unengaged figures & that way we don't even need the disengage wording.

Me too, I like how you got the counter strike that you wanted in there.

Also, regarding grabbing figures out of engagement. I'm for non-engaged figures because if he could grab them out of engagement, his cost would go up more than he'd be worth when used with other fliers in his army. So while he'd be great in armies with non-fliers, he be not worth the extra points in flier armies. Though with the non-adjacent grab/carry, he'd still be really useful in non-flier armies and not overcosted in GL or other super flier armies.

There are tons, but after Kilowog, Hal, Guy, Kyle, and John I think it'll probably be some time before we do any more. They're the main ones and everything else is reallly expensive (not that Kilowog isn't ...)

What type of Constructs would be good with this GL? I would be in favor of Spidey nutting out a quick Construct, because we need more for Kyle really.

There's no room in the booster, though. No problems with waiting until we can release a construct booster to bolster the GLs. I think this guy can stand on his own.

Disengage makes sense thematically, but there may be an issue in terms of drafting and gameplay.

Because John's power (the Bubble) does not benefit the Corp due to the flying restriction, he is already not likely to be drafted with them very often, because you will be loosing points by not being able to use his power.
Now if you make the bubble even more powerful with the disengage, you will be increasing the cost of the card, and thereby even further decreasing the likelyhood that he will be drafted with the Corp due to his lack of use of an expensive power.

Now what I am saying is this: without disengage, John is likely to be drafted with non-flying JLA members most of the time, and occasionally with Killowog and company.

But with the disengage, John is likely to only ever be drafted with non-flying JLA members, and rarely ever with the corp, because in just drafting that army, you would be starting out loosing even more usefulness with him and ultimately you would be at a disadvantage to your opponent on points.

Now I think that it is a great idea to have John be occasionally draftable with the corp, and almost always draftable with the non-flying JLA, because in the cartoons and comics, that is really the main role that he has taken, and it is a good one. But making it so that it is only smart to ever draft him with non-fliers is mistake IMO, and an injustice to the character and the rest of his corps.
