Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
Bout time I did another simple swamp map. No power glyphs on this one...which is pretty unique for me...but that's because of the small nature of this map...this one will have fast and furious battles...and a couple treasure glyphs for some heroes to boot!

Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
That was cool seeing your previous map in your battle video - Poor Lady Heroscape has about as much luck with Fen Hydra as I do. I will admit that the perfectionist part of my brain wants to connect those two road tiles on the outsides of the map. But, it looked like a fun map to play!
I've been teaching my nephew how to play, and this latest map looks like a good one to use to introduce him to jungle. So, thanks! |

Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
Realized that I haven't made a map with these sets for a long time. So here's a fun one

Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
Lava Mound is cool. Might be a bit hard for some melee, but the close start zones and Jungle should help. I like how you made the start zones a lot, and with the ruins placements.

Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
Yeah, it should have enough open lanes for melee to come from multiple directions and box in the opponent, and the map is small enough to keep range from kiting too hardcore.

Re: Sir Heroscape's Maps
Heya Mr. Sir Heroscape Sir! I've had some thoughts I've been meaning to drop here for a while and am finally hitting the map area of the site hard! (because I tend to see things on my iPod and then not get back to them when on the computer...) So here are some unsolicited cents for you!
Looks cool hot (and is one of my favorite terrain combinations!), though I do worry about how much it may promote turtling with how many choke points it has and with the lava making for a slow crawl. There's also a pretty good Raelin spot on that raised grass hex by the Jungle. Kind of feels like a "come at me, bro" map in a competitive setting. Though at the same time I also think it looks like a super fun "risk it for the biscuit" map with two aggressive armies (Venoc Vipers vs Death Chasers FTW!). Or a great heat of battle map -- I could really see that here. This guy looks like an adventure! (Which is something I think you capture really well in your maps.) I like the progression of events across a larger map that are set up with the road and scattering of height. There are also lots of options for different kinds of play styles which I really like. I'll hopefully get to try it out soon and let you know how it goes! Really like the look of this puppy! I really like maps where choosing your start zone has quick consequences! Just a quick note -- you have it listed as FotA x1, but have two gates, though I think there are enough columns to turn the gates into columns and be okay? Also, you should do a quick mod to allow Hive placement. Really cool map idea/application. My only thought here is that the jungle looks a bit condensed, with two pieces side-by-side and two more by the highest points in the area. Maybe moving a couple of those further into the valley would help figures be able to move from side to side without getting shot to pieces? Otherwise another map I'd like to try out sometime. Monthly Utah Tournaments in SLC!!
