Vegie and I just finished. There are a few units that are banned in my household. Morsbane is actually one of them. Not because he's amazing--in fact, I've lost every game I've played with him. But every single time he's negated a figure my girlfriend cares about, and it is hilarious. Well, irony is very bitter, and Laglor's ghost probably agrees. Good game Vegie! That 20 at the end is what makes Heroscape the amazing game it is.

I won a very close game over Ryguy last night. As he mentioned, the final big play came down to Morsbane blasting 5-life Laglor out of the game with a 20. But this was a game of big plays, helped by the small size of Ruined City. It was back and forth bombs at each other and whoever got the last bomb was going to win.

I opened up the game with a Rain of Flame on 6 Trons that had just moved out of the startzone, but the fire was a cold 1/4 skulls and 5 robots survived. Ryguy responding by pinging Kyntela out of the game with Laglor-range boosted shots from Blasts, while his Glads advanced. I podded up outside my startzone and focused on picking off Glads with Jorhdawn and Chardris. This was decently successful, but a few Glads reached the Elf pod. and laid into Chardris, who was frontlining. Chardris went down, and Arkmer went down to follow, but Morsbane and Jorhdawn escaped the wrath of the Gladblast with only one wound each thanks to some pretty poor attack rolls from the Blasts. Arkmer hit a clutch engagement strike on a Glad to really keep the pressure off before he died.

With the Glads down, I charged Morsbane forward to try to negate Laglor and catch or negate the Krav. He couldn't manage to get Laglor negated, and took some damage from the Krav and retreated up the hill. The game changing performance was Jorhdawn launching a Rain of Flame on two Krav and Laglor. It was a cold 1/3, but two Krav whiffed and the offensive firepower from Ryguy went drastically down. There was still a monkey to deal with though. I threw Emiroon and Jorhdawn into engagement with Laglor to try to keep 1-life Morsbane alive long enough to throw more negations. Negated Laglor vs. Ulginesh is close, but with Autoload Laglor should have a decisive edge. Laglor quickly autoloaded his way through Emiroon and was working through Jorhdawn when Morsbane finally landed a big number, a 20, to knock Laglor out cold. Good game.
