Re: The Book of Nilfheim

who do you guys think works well with Nifheim?? i need some suggestions for a 410 pt. army for a touny that i'm basing around Nilfheim. i'm thinking i will use:
Nilf-185
Syvarris-285 (to cover Nilf from behind and take out other ranged figures)
Deathreavers x1 or 2- 325-365 (for a screen)
What else should i get and/or substitute

My 2011 tourney record: 7-7
My 2010 tourney record: 7-9

It would be best to switch out Syvarris for some common ranged squad (4th Mass, 10th Reg., etc.), or even a unique ranged squad (Krav?), since either of these will increase the number of times you'll be able to attack each turn. Keep the 'reavers, as they allow a nice screen for Nilfheim and any other ranged figure you use.

Re: The Book of Nilfheim

Who works well with Niflhiem?

Almost anybody. Seriously.

The Ice dragon will be you center piece, it is usually best to bring some squads with him for support. 10th reg, rats, Knights. Any squad(s) you can thin out the enemy ranks so the dragon can finish them off.

Re: The Book of Nilfheim

The army i made today and have played twice is:

Crixus
Nilfheim
Capuan Gladiators
10th Reg x2
495 points

I was thinking about rotating Nilfheim out for Zelrig but after reading the posts here Ive decided not to. Crixus got chomped early in the first game and Nilfheim one the match for me 1 shotting Grimnack and being supported by the 10th.

Greenscales are great with Nilfheim.

Nilfheim 185
greenscales x2 305

That is a strong core...you could start from that.

Re: The Book of Nilfheim

Shouldn't the Greenscales be under Synergies? Same goes for Braxas, Charos and Mimring.

Re: The Book of Nilfheim

Nilfheim is the best possible zombie hider as you can use his wings to hide thier heads.

just thought that was worth noting.
