"I think you are right Sullivan, the Airborne Elite is clearly shackled. However, not eliminating the AE today does not mean that the warriors have lost, it only means that we are stuck here one more day until we are freed. The shackleds' days are clearly numbered now, and that number is 1."

OOC - nether - you're correct, if just simplistically comparing situations.
However, you and Kelda are hardly the same situations, neither in game (it's MUCH much later in the game now, and a too-silent Puppet at this stage would be a unwise strategem as compared to the stage of the game that you were voted out) nor in personality (you are always on here & normally post a lot, she is/does not). PM incoming. |

I've told you all the bits that are mine. I'd suggest that all of ya go back and consider what everyone else has said up to this point. Look for the places where things don't fit, where warriors' words don't make sense. Better minds than mine still roam the cave and I'd hope they're being put to work. Because if we're wrong tonight about Kelda, and since I know you'll be wrong tomorrow about me, that means that there will come another night with fewer warrior votes and we need to be as close to takin' out the last of Ne-Gok-Sa's puppets as we can be. Quote:
If I'm a 'Shackled, why would I volunteer to drink? That's silly, because I would want my master to take over. If I'm a warrior, why would I volunteer to drink? That's silly, because I know I'm deprivin' the remainin' warriors of a vote that could be useful tomorrow. Frankly, Sullivan, you're attitude's annoyin'. You're real self-righteous and arrogant, overconfident and condescendin'. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even if you are a warrior. You act so much like the hind end of a mule that FDR could use you for a mascot and no one would know the difference. I'm hopin' you're not too blinded by all that to see the snake in our midst, whoever it is. Given past experiences, though, I'm doubtin' it. ...MASQUERADE Registration Now Underway... NIGHT 9 - Really?!?...
---A verdict has been reached, and the sentence carried out. The players have decided that Kelda is most likely a Mindshackled Puppet of Ne-Gok-Sa, and she has been foced to drink of the cursed Wellspring's Waters. As the poisonous icor fills her veins, her body spasms uncontrolably, and she sinks to her knees. Then, her eyes suddenly release a brilliant red light which fills the cavern. As the Kyrie healer's mouth begins to move, each Warrior in the cave hears the words of their native language within their own minds...
"Impudent PAWNS! You may have survived this simple trap, but I am far from beaten! You imbeciles follow a DOOMED cause! One day, Utgar will control all of Valhalla, and any of you wretched fools unlucky enough to survive his wrath will be delivered unto ME! Then, will you long and PAINFULLY rue the day you crossed the path of NE-GOK-SA!!!" As the echoes of the Hivelord's name fade from their thoughts, the light vanishes from Kelda's eyes and she collapses completely. Then, as suddenly as she fell, she LEAPS TO HER FEET AGAIN! She snatches her spear from the ground and brandishes it meanacingly against the remainig Warriors in the cave. After a long moment of silent tension, she blinks her eyes forcefully, then vigorously shakes her head. She lowers her spear and glances around the cave in disbelief... "...He's gone? ...HE'S GONE!!! ...The vile Marro is GONE FROM MY MIND!!!" she shouts in rapturous delight. "...And mine as well" comes a voice from behind them. Turning, the awestruck Warriors see their valiant Sergeant Drake Alexander rising from the ground, leaning wearily upon his Katana for support... "...'N me too, ...t'would seem we've driven 'im off" adds Deadeye, uncapping a small metal flask with a look of eager anticipation on his dusty face. "I am also free once again!" joins another female Kyrie voice. Raelin stands very slowly, then energetically unfurls her wings, hoisting the Spear of Gerda proudly above her head. "...Shackled Warriors, ...we are FREE!!!" As looks of shock and amazement sweep across the faces of the assembled Warriors, a voice long absent from the cavern is now heard once again. "And not just the puppets of the foul one," says the elderly Kyrie villager, now sitting upright and tugging his beard thoughtfully. "Look about you Warriors, ...ALL have been freed from the Water's Curse." He spreads his arms, making a wide gesture to the bodies strewn around him on the cavern floor. One by one, all of the Warriors there begin to rise and look about questioningly. Those struck by Ne-Gok-Sa's mental powers and those who drank the foul waters all rise together - finally free of their crippling Paralysis. Comrades trade grins and handshakes, then open laughter and even wide-armed embraces. Then a deep, commanding voice rises above the din of the Warriors' celebrations. The voice is loud and powerful, authoritative and regal, and the cavern seems to come alive with its energy... "...Well done friends, well done." The thunderous voice of Ullar's Dragon King fills the stale air within the cave. Charos rises to his full height, standing on his hind legs and stretching his wings almost to the ceiling. "All here have good cause to rejoice, for we have beaten the dark Warlord at his own game. However - there is still work to be done." Charos moves deliberately but gracefully across the cave to stand near the rubble still blocking the collapsed entrance. "I cannot vouch for any others," he says, working his shoulders in tight circles to restore circulation to the long inactive limbs, "but I myself have had plenty of 'rest' this last week upon the floor of this grisly tomb. Those who still require respite should take it, but I call those capable to aid me in clearing this debris as quickly as possible. I, for one, will be all too glad when there is once more clean air beneath my wings, and this filthy cavern is nothing but an unpleasant memory. Let us pass the time by sharing the stories of this strange struggle from each of our perspectives, then when we break through this barrier and into Valhalla's countryside, we can truely claim that the Curse of Ne-Gok-Sa has finally ended and the Warriors are victorious!!!" With that, the great King of Drakes siezes the nearest boulder and hefts it clear of the passageway, then lunges back for another...--- And so ends the first "Curse of Ne-Gok-Sa" game here in the 'Scapers.com CRIMSON CAVE!!! Everyone played a great game, and with over 30,000 page views, I think I can safely assume that at least a few spectators enjoyed watching it too. Here are the final standings at game's-end:
I hope everyone had a good time! I think that you guys did a MARVELOUS job of illustrating how to play this game in an online venue. Thanx for all your efforts. ^_^ Now don't forget the most important part - we all have to decide WHICH PLAYER(S) are the WINNERS!!! Players on the winning faction (Warriors) will get 3 victory points each. Players on the losing faction (Puppets) get 1 point each. Everybody who played (regardless of Paralyzed/Active status) now gets to cast two last votes: 1 to the player in the group who best acted out and/or role-played their character identity, and the other 1 to the player in the group who made the game the most fun. These are obviously speculative, and made at each player's discretion. I'd appreciate y'all making it easy on me by using RED BOLDED ALL-CAPS, as usual, ...but I can't exactly kick you out of the game if you choose not to. ^_^ Players not giving out their 'votes' in this thread within 96 hours after the game ends (by Tuesday) will be considered to have given their votes to themselves. Players whose character identities were randomly assigned will be receiving one extra 'role-play' vote. The player with the most 'RP' votes will get 3 extra points. The player with the next-most 'RP' votes will get 2 extra points, and the 3rd-highest total of 'RP' votes will get 1 extra point. Likewise, most 'fun' votes gets 3 points, 2nd-most gets 2 points, and 3rd-most 'fun' votes gets 1 point. The player(s) with the most victory points after all of the final votes are tallied wins the game. I'll use these scores to compile 'league' rankings for all players based on an average number of points per game played, which can be used for bragging rights, or to decide who should be Paralyzed first in the next game... ^_^ I'll get things rolling by being the first to cast my votes. The 'role-play' arena, is the toughest one for me, so I'll do that first. There are SO MANY folks who really exceeded my expectations on 'roleplay' that this was really a hard decision. The cowboys Dan and Johnny were really entertaining, as was Jotun the boneheaded Giant and Syvarris the orientationally-questionable fop. The Gorillinator, Omnicron, MacDirk, Knight of Weston, Venoc Warlord, Concan, and Warrior of Ashra all had their characters vividly brought to life by player efforts, through dialog and mannerisms. Even the Monk, Morsbane, Sir Denrick, Kelda, Raelin, and Thorgrim, and well as the Tarn, Thorgrim, and Drake all had visible character elements present which gave an authentic feel to their roles. Nilfheim was obviously the most outstandingly VOCAL roleplayer, ...and he certainly did credit to the 'all-knowing dragon' bit! Overall though, I'm giving my ROLEPLAY VOTE TO ERWIN TAGGART. It might not be public knowledge, but Mystic Blue is a friend of mine that entered this game purely at my personaly ivitation, ...with NO KNOWLEDGE WHATSOEVER of anything about the HeroScape Universe. This member went out on their own and learned about the HS game and characters, with enough grasp to throw together the 'Taking on those Zettians' story on DAY ONE. Mystic Blue took on the 'Airborne Elite' persona with literally a moment's notice, and played it perfectly, even down to the penchant for gambling, the "in the trenches" lingo, and even the 'feelings of betrayal' for voting down her C.O. when turning on Drake. From starting at literally ground zero, this member really went 'above and beyond' the call of duty, and for that, gets my role-playing vote. The 'most fun' vote is a little easier. Don't get me wrong - EVERYONE who played really brought something positive to this game for me. No joke, ...even the 'troublemakers' who made life frantic for me with on-the-fly rulings and 'crowd pacification' posts still helped make this a better experience overall, in my opinion. I had four finalists for my 'fun' vote. My first candidate was reapersaurus. Beyond his words and/or actions in the game, the simple fact that he is RESPONSIBLE for this game even happening has to be given some merit. If he hadn't started this shindig, we wouldn't be having ANY fun at all. ^_^ Second candidate was skyknight. His outspoken manner and 'mouthpiece' ploy really brought a focal element to the game. Whether or not he was being manipulated by his 'seer' was often (understandably) the center of discussion, and that certainly made the game exciting. Third option was Jormi_Boced, for his exquisitely masterful manipulation of the crowds. Among numerous other examples, he turned his public Paralyzation to his advantage by using PMs to lead others into crucifying a perfectly innocent Warrior the very next day. Overall though, I'm giving my MOST FUN VOTE TO SYVARRIS, and it's purely for personal reasons. ^_^ The other 3 candidates brought tons of fun and excitement to everybody in the game, but funrun made it the most fun for ME, personally. She sent me PMs almost every DAY telling me who she suspected and why. Eventhough all I did was 'smile and nod', she kept the PMs coming. I silently applauded her logic when she hit the mark, and often fell out of my chair laughing when she missed, and that was what made the game the most fun for ME... Naturally, I have TONS of boring commentary to type out that I've been holding back for over a MONTH, but right now, I'm gonna step down and let the players in to have their say - it's your party now guys. ^_^ Everybody can finally say in public all the things they've been dying to for weeks. I'll go ahead and preempively stress that this should all be kept in the proper PERSPECTIVE. Many of you may have just discovered that you were mislead or manipulated by others, but don't get overwhelmingly NEGATIVE about it. It's just a game. I've gotten a very reliable impression that most of the players really enjoyed this experience. If you had fun, please post your FINAL VOTES and explain why. If you have any feedback or suggestions about the game mechanics themselves, please say so - all comments will be considered when evaluating changes to the rules before the next set of games. If you DIDN'T enjoy this game, please feel free to express that opinion as well, but please don't drag the post-game experience down with alot of unwanted negativity. If you don't feel like you can walk away from this game a 'winner' with the majority of the other players, then please, just walk away... I want to congratulate everybody on a game well played. Now cut loose with the commentary!!! I'll pitch in more as my time permits, ...of that you can be certain... Congrats again to everyone, ...and THANX FOR PLAYING!!! ^_^ -LordRaidor- ...Experience the Curse... (Click for Details) [Don't Have 'Permission'? Click Here to Give Yourself Access...] |

YEAH YEAH YEAH! I'm the SEER and I lasted the whole game and got the warriors to win! nah nah nah! Ok now, who did I fool and for how long?
Each vision I tried to pick someone who could easily have a case made against them if they were shackled, and even better if I also thought I could sway them to vote with me if they were not. skyknight and reaper were the only 2 who fit the later description, and were the only two who ever knew my true identity. Raelin, you were my very first vision because I saw you as suspicious in your first PMs to me. I played you as my friend for over a week to get as much info as I could till I had someone else I knew was a warrior and would trust me with my word. . . Thank you skyknight for understanding everything about me that you found suspicious was really because I knew that if you pretended to have the Seer on your side that it simply wasn't true until I was able to prove you were a warrior. And let me tell you, I was holding my breath for your family and service duty in hopes you did not swear a false oath on them! This man did a superb job in winning this game and protecting my true identity no matter how much reaper bugged him. netherspirit, I so badly wanted to tell you my role, but you were just to darn suspicious of everyone. You were the only (at the time) proven warrior who we let fall in place of my name being cleared to keep me out of the sights of the shackled. If I had been less busy at work at the time, I think we could have put out the right PMs to save you, so I am sorry for that, but I hope you understand you fell to protect the Seer. Thorgrim and MacDirk, you were my best buds in this game who I never truly doubted until Wednesday. I used you a bit to influence votes and played off any doubts you had on those I either knew to be shackled or suspected. I am glad you listened. reaper, man I had you picked as a shackled from day one and couldn't wait for the day I could vision you in hopes of taking you down or using your network to join skyknight's. I am glad ultimately you trusted me. For those involved, we essentially referred to the network as the mob, I was the secret mob boss and only the top mob leaders knew my identity. From there we had branch leads who sought others for intel and didn't know other branches even existed. I know Omnicron was a branch lead. I knew after Drake was out that this game would be won by the warriors no matter who was voted out when, I thought Kelda was last, but after how AE acted today I got convinced he may have been the last instead, so ultimately I was surprised the game is over, but I was not at all surprised the warriors won! |

BEST ROLEPLAY: DEADEYE DAN. The cowboys were my favorite, but the way Dan behaved on his last day, and the ***** house in Texas on a Friday night line was the best in the game.
MOST FUN: NILFHEIM. You kept me on my toes so much the first few days, I could not for the life of me figure out if you were shackled or not. Then you trusted me, and we worked out some great strategies from there. Your icey all knowing dragon was often a great read, and your idea to speak as if you were me in the end was perfect. I never once even told him what to say there, but he played it out very well. He made the game the most fun for me personally. |

Perhaps the most interesting part of the game was that whenever someone (LordRaidor, skyknight, reaper) found out my identity, suddenly they thought everything I said was an obvious giveaway to the shackled and for sure I would be paralyzed within a night or two.
I look forward to hearing everyone else's takes. |

You know, from your PM's I should have been able to guess that you were the visionary! You told me you knew Raelin was a shackled early on. I should have figured out how you knew that. I think what threw me off was how you continued the "I do not know if we should take Nilfheim and his seer to serously" dialouge for so long. Some of your last comments were also misleading. Should have known.

Now that I look at my PM's I have decided who my votes are for.
Most Fun: Syvarris. This is the person I had the most communication with in the game. From the start to the end, Funrun and I had PM's bouncing to each other. Her PMs were the ones that got me thinking, and she swayed my vote several times. The thing that made her PMs unique, is that we not only agreed several times, but we had several arguements. There were several times that I thought my ally was a shackled. (Of course, she probably thought the same about me. ) Nothing else gave me a sense of excitement, bewilderment, betrayal, and trust like the elfreplies . Role-Play Award: The Venoc Viper. This is the only guy who actually PMed in character. Just for taking the time to do that, he gets this award.
