DAY 9 - A Chill In The Air...
---As dawn again approaches, a shrill wind whistles harshly outside the cave, adding an unseasonably crisp chill to the cavern air. As Warriors begin to rise, someone notices that the surface of the Cursed Wellspring has even started to freeze a bit around one bank. ...Then they realize that the ice doesn't stop at the water's edge...
The meter-wide flow of half-frozen slush leads up the bank and away from the Wellspring, towards a wall scrawled with seemingly haphazard slashes and cryptic runes. The icy trail terminates at the nostrils of the great Frost Drake, Nilfheim. As a sudden spasm wracks Nilfheim's helpless form, a silent but barely visible burst of moisture leaps from his snout, peppering the ground in front of him with bits of frozen spittle and sending a chill down the spines of the observers. As the chunks of ice begin to melt, they slowly join more of their bretheren in a slowly creeping slide down an icy avenue of their own making toward the Cursed waters. Their solemn march is a silent protest against the fall of their creator. The great dragon has finally suffered the wrath of Ne-Gok-Sa's minions...--- Nilfheim has been Paralyzed by the Mindshackled during the night. skyknight may no longer VOTE during the DAY, and may no longer fill his 'special role' at night if he is a Mindshackled or the Visionary. However, Paralyzed players are still strongly encouraged to continue to participate in the game and help their teammates win this struggle! For role-playing purposes, Paralyzed characters may not move about the cave or take any physical actions (other than twitch and convulse uncontrolably). Paralyzed players, however, may still POST anything they wish (in this thread or via PMs) and continue to be an active part of the discussion. In theory, Paralyzed players are enfeebled and delirious, but the extent of their dementia is up to each individual player, and any coherent bits of speech that work their way out in between bouts of nonsensical gibberish is still plenty good enough to communicate with the other players... It is now DAY9 in the CRIMSON CAVE until Friday. Discussion may occur in THIS THREAD or via Private Messaging. Players may make, debate, and alter any verbal accusations they wish, but individuals must submit their final votes in RED BOLDED ALL-CAPS in this thread by 11:00PM (CST) Friday, Oct 13, or their vote will be decided randomly for them by me. Final votes may not be altered once cast. The following players are in the cave. Active players are eligible to vote, but Paralyzed players are not:

Weel, fancy 'at. Th' dragon has finally fa'en tae th' shackled. Considerin' it took thes lang, Ah pure dornt hink Nilfheeem was shackled. Wi' th' sway he held in th' cae, th' minions coods hae won easily much earlier. Nae, in thes late stage ay th' gam, th' shackled ur surely dwindlin' in number, an' it woods be tay stoatin a loss fur Nilfheeem tae sacrifice himself tae flin' suspicion. Nae tae mention, we huvnae bin suspicious ay Nilfheeem lately. Th' shackled waur hopin' we'd vote heem it, but when 'at feel ben, they knocked heem ower themselves.
Now th' question is fa haur was most sit against heem? A stoaner decision, an' Ah can see 'at mah instincts waur wrang abit at leest one bodie still in haur! |

As Nilfheim lies in a ruined heap a slow reverberating noise comes from deep within his massive body..almost a short hissing noise. As it builds slowly in volume with each passing second the free warriors realize he is laughing. His eyes stare into the darkness of the cave still glowing with blue fire. Suddenly Nilfheim's body jerks into spasms, his once blue eyes turn a deep white color and a voice comes from Nilfheims mouth those his jaws never move...
You have missed again shackled, Nilfheim has fallen to protect me and now your fate is sealed. Do you think after all of this time the Wyrm would slip in such a way if he did not want to. No, his words were chosen wisely and he knew the consequences......Rest now brave Nilfheim for you will be needed soon. Nilfheim's body gives another quick jerk and his eyes return to the Sapphire blue they were before. His body lies almost exactly as it was before except this time a grin is frozen onto his Reptilian face...It seems Nilfheim is happy with this turn of events. |

There was some part of me that knew noble Nilfheim would be the pupp-*spasm* target tonight. That leaves the shackled in a serious situation. With only seven left in the cave who are not par-*spasm*. We know of two whom the visionary has discovered sha-*spasm*. That leaves at most two more puppets to discover. Noble Nilfheim mentioned three others who he knew were warriors. That leaves only four warriors of unknown loyalty. One of those was discovered this night. If another war-*spasm* was discovered this night, then there are two of the three left who are shackled. We warriors are very close to winning this battle.

So, ye vile and accursed ones, your wrath has finally fallen upon the great wyrm of the north. I do beleive that ye are full of fear. Soon the free warriors shall discover the last of your number and ye shall fall. It maketh no difference that Nilheim the mighty hath fallen, the out come changeth not; right shall prevail and ye shal pay for your treachery.

Nilfheim lies on the floor, uinmoving and unblinking. Liquid Nitrogen runs out of his nostrils and freezes the floor where it lands. A small quiver rolls through the Dragons lips
kelda.....if shackled...dangerousssssssss.... not shaccckklleeeedd dangerousssss Suddenly Nilfs eyes go white and his head jerks to the left and lands a couple feet away from its original position. I believe what our scaled friend is trying to tell us is this. Kelda through inaction is as dangerous shackled as she is unshackled. To leave her unparalyzed while all she does is sleeps and not aid the warriors is dangerous indeed. As it stands right now she is the best canidate for drinking it seems. Nilfheims eyes roll back to pure blue as his body once again becomes unanimated. |

In other words, whatever the proven shackled mutter we cannot trust it, nor can we use it as an indication of anyonoe's guilt or innocence; therefore, the paralyzed shackled might as well not speak at all, for my pointy ears are deaf to their words." |

What makes this so easy, Jotun thinks to himself, is that apparently Ne-Gok-Sa does not understand subtlety when it comes to using his puppets. You whisper in the puppet's ears that they can still manipulate the true warriors with disinformation and they both return sharply to their semiconscious state to start pointing fingers. Ne-Gok-Sa and his puppets are so easily played a caveman (or giant) could do it! Proving Nilfheim was quite right, and that the two of them have been Mind-Frakked by Ne-Gok-Sa from the beginning!

Sullivan smiles along with the paralyzed dragon of ice.
"Ah see you took one for tha' team there, Dragon. Is'allright - Ah'll help ta make sure ya get outta here alive, along with tha other Warriors in here. We gotta make the Warrior vote COUNT ta'day - there are some of us that are known Warriors, there are some of us that are suspected Warriors, and there are some of us that are unknown entities. I suggest that the most unknown of us - that'd be you, Kelda and you, MacDirk Warrior - state your cases as to why we shouldn't get rid'a both a ya. If ya could collect yer votin' records (and say whether ya only voted AFTER tha outcome had been decided), that'd help the other Warriors in here decide yer fate." OOC : I'm not sure when Kelda can get back, but hopefully she's free to talk by now. |
