Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
My daughter Morgan's warhound is painted for Frostgrave. He was quite the wolf killer in our last game, one we started on Saturday, played a little on Sunday and finally finished last night. I just have to cleanup the edge of the base a little bit and varnish it. At least now he'll look legit on the battlefield

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
We use the Wolves of Badru as wolves.
We played The Mausoleum scenario recently and used wolves in place of skeletons, to make it a little bit more interesting. They certainly were more deadly than skeletons. There were a lot of wolves running around and fighting, so it was nice to have a distinctive figure for the warhound. I already had that figure from an expansion for Mercs Recon I kickstarted a couple years ago and got last year. I also have another warhound figure coming with a tracker figure. Edit: I didn't mean to seem rude @quozl , I think the Wolves of Badru would make good warhounds too. It's just when there are other wolves in the game, it can be more confusing is all. Deathstalkers could make some neat warhounds too. Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Morgan and I had continued our Mausoleum scenario game on Sunday night for a while, and then finished it on Monday night.
The wolves were tougher than the skeletons would have been, that's for sure, and then I had a boar enter from my side of the board after the last treasure was picked up. So we made a pact not to attack each other (after the game started and we realized our danger from the wolves) since we were so much otherwise occupied. But I still had my Infantryman "Max the Axe" and my Dwarf Barbarian "Ripped Smalls" get reduced to 0 health from wolves. The game is pretty swingy in combat with the d20, so while neither of those guys got one-shotted, they did get taken out in 2 exchanges with the wolves. I rolled bad and Morgan rolled well for the Wolf each time. But that's part of the game, and why they aren't auto dead when reduced to 0 health. However, after the game and rolling to see if those 2 were dead 1-4, badly wounded (not able to play the next game) 5-8, or okay 9-20, Ripped Smalls was okay, but Max the Axe ended up perishing. I didn't complete my Ulterior Motives card, but that was my fault on 2 accounts. I placed the Arcane Disc piece on the hill, and I also made the mistake at the end by getting my final treasure off the board. By me doing that, Morgan only had one more to get off the board as well, and when all the treasure is off, the game ends. I was moving my Wizard and Apprentice toward the Arcane Disc and needed one more turn to get there, and then had to be there at the beginning of the next turn to be able to roll to see how much knowledge they may have gotten in the form of XP's. Morgan completed her Ulterior Motives card, as she needed a figure in the Archway and one touching the Runic Stone. The one touching the Runic Stone needed to then use an action and they had to roll vs a Will test and got some XP's for it. Post game rolls for treasures gotten off the board, had Morgan getting a ton of gold. One treasure was 30 GC and 3 potions (Invisibility, Genie in a Bottle and Elixer of Speed). The 2 other ones she rolled where she gets gold equal to 25 x a d20 roll and then 20 x a d20 roll. She rolled 19 both times. So in total she ended up with 985 GC. I ended up with a total of 350GC and a Grimoire with a spell that I can't use nor sell, so that is a bust. But I also got a Cloak of Protection to give the wearer +1 armor, and I got a Ring of Power (1), that lets me add 1 to my die roll once per game to help boost a spell cast roll. You normally can use your health to boost a spell roll, so at least this can save me a health point each game. My wizard will be level 5 and Morgan's will be level 7. Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Nice report
@Hahma
. I love them. I am yet to get someone to play frostgrave with me yet. Soon. Very Soon. I finished yet another building yesterday that turned out pretty cool. Its a cottage-esk ruined building. I promise some pictures tonight after work. My board is turning into quite the piece. I had some little questions that came up when reading the manual. First. When you roll for a creature to come onto the board do you just say 1-5 this edge, 6-10 this edge-11-15 this edge and 16 through 20 for the last to get a random place?

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
@TREX
Yes, that's exactly the way we do it. Same thing for the Mausoleum scenario when determining which side of the building the skeleton, or in our case wolf, will come out. It's a little more creative when on a creature phase, there is no warband member within 10 inches and LoS of the creature. Then you have to move them in a random direction, which could be up to you if it's more than just left, right, up or down. It's up to you and the other players to agree, but no big deal. I'm considering making a template of sorts that can uses a d6 and have 360 degrees of directions. There is a standard ball scatter template in Guild Ball that does that ti determine where a loose ball will scatter to in some cases. Seems like it would be perfect here. Like this: I just remembered another option, one that was used in the game Dark Ages that I played a little while ago. You just roll the d20 and the corner/point of the die face that is at the top of the number, would be the direction used. That's probably the easiest way actually. Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
D8s and D10s work great for scatter as they actually have a distinct point to determine direction.

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
I don't suppose that they have released a creature list or bestairy for Ghost Archipelago? It would be nice to have a heads-up so folks could start collecting those miniatures. I'm hoping that the two games share some requirements.
