5th Annual Richardson Open

As was the case last year, the event will be held in my backyard. We are limited in space and accommodations so this event will be capped at 20 people (sorry). We will have a BBQ before the actual tournament. If you want to join in on the BBQ, simply sign up on the list below and bring along a food item (chips, sodas, etc).

When: Saturday May 26th . BBQ to start at 11:30, games start around 1:00.

Entry Fee: None

Prizes: I ask that everyone who wants to take part in the prize table, please bring a book or DVD that you think is excellent and possibly unfamiliar to the rest of the group (ie a cool book that you think the rest of us would really like, etc). Nothing too crazy, just in the ballpark of $10 or so (used DVDs are fine as is Half Priced books, etc).

Army Construction:

Restricted List: Each army can only contain ONE unit from the restricted list below. For example, if one player has Raelin neither that player or his team mate can field any other figure on the restricted list in their army.

Army Quality Value (AQV): Each army will have a calculated AQV using the power rankings on this site. You can calculate your army's AQV by multiplying the points of a given unit you field by the Quality Factor (QF) described below. This value is only used to for comparison to other armies. Normal points costs still apply for army construction.

Quality Factor w/ Relation to Power Ranking Grade:

[B+] 0.7

[B-] 0.5
[C+] 0.4

Here is an example calculation:
4xRomans 200*0.7=140
Marcus Decimus 100*0.8=80
Me-Burq-Sa 50*0.8=40
Gure Oni 100*0.4=40
Total AQV = 300

Your AQV will be used for two things. In both instances, THE LOWER THE VALUE THE BETTER. In other words, the weaker the units you use, the more it benefits you (to an extent).

First, when you match up with an opponent, you will compare AQVs. The person with the lower value gets to locate an attack glyph on their end of the map. All maps will have two designated locations (one closer to each start zone) where the glyph can go. The lower AQV army gets to locate it closer to them. The locations for each map will be toward the center, but slightly to one sides favor.

Second, the AQV will be used for all tie breakers. The lower value will get the nod over the higher in terms of positioning, etc.

I have enjoyed CheddarLimbo's famous homemade burgers enough over the past three years that I am wildly optimistic that they will be making a return appearance.
