How much should this custom cost?2 MAJOR EDITING!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDITED!!!

Kee-Mo-Shi's Experiment

Marro
Unique Hero

Life 8
Move 10
Range 7
Attack 3
Deffense 3

Frenzy

Melee 2

Marro Plaige

Respawn
When the Experiment is destroyed place a marro blood marker on the space it is standing on. At the begining of each round afterwards, before placing order markers, roll the twenty sided die. If you roll 17 - 20, place the Experiment on the same space as the marro blood marker. Place 4 wounds on the Experiment. Respawn may only be used once.

Re: How much should this custom cost? 2

Not going to comment on the points ATM because I want to make some suggestions for the figure first:

1) Reduce the Life to 1. Common heroes only have 1 Life because there is no way to match an army card and its wound markers with its figure on the board. If you have a house rule to keep track of the markers then you are probably ok but it will still lower the chance someone will use your custom.

2) Maybe lower the number of heroes you can use with Hive Swarm. I'd at least remove the "use all this turn" and replace it with 6 or so.

3) Limit Marro Poison to work only when the figure inflicts a wound on an adjacent enemy hero.

Also any reason you wanted to use the figure for a common hero? Is it for your story maybe?

PS: You're right it is very overpowered

Point taken. I'm still a little concerned. It will be painful if someone drafts a bunch of these guys and rolls a 20: I might die from the wait!

Then again the "Experiment" may end up costing a pretty penny so people may not be able to draft too many of them anyway.

do you already have a custom unit thread?

BTW: overpowered usually means unplayable.
Maybe you meant "powerful"? As long as something is appropriately costed, as long as it's ~200 points or less, it shouldn;t be a problem.

Are you deliberately trying to make a inappropriately costed unit, meaning it should cost less than it is worth?

Wow, this guy has more powers than you can shake a stick at as well as hive swarm and frenzy, potentially, this guy could go all day with all his buddies. How many are associated with each card? One? The mind control thing and the plague, both potent. And the move is really out there. I like it but I would think about narrowing down some of the powers if you really want it to be playable.

please dont make more than 1 thread for all of your custom unit ideas.
Polls are not appropriate for custom unit threads anyway.

Polls substitute for reasoned discussion. A vote wqithout reasoning is usless in custom unit design.

How many figures is this squad?

If you want to emphasize the 'experimental' nature with all these powers, make the player choose which one to use each turn, or even make it random. You should also include a self-destruct (cf Wolves) option for low rolls on each d20 ability. They would have to be pretty likely, otherwise you could block it off completely with SBN and a glyph or something. Maybe 1-4.

You've made this guy a better Ne-Gok-Sa, a more powerful viper, etc. He'd have to be really unstable to remain playable, and being common, his cost probably shouldn't be too high anyway.

Costing 60 would make they combine well with SBN (drafting 4 into a 400-points army), but right now they definitely don't. But with all these d20 powers, it'd be nice if he did.

Gotta go.

By respect for your fellow posters, please refrain from gratuitous use of the terms "******", "****", "****", "*****", "***", "****", "***", "******", "******" and "GenCon exclusive".
