Be prepared to receive more neg rep for mentioning that you've received it.

FWIW, I think that neg rep is one of the most harmful things implemented on the site. I encourage everyone to disable your reputation in your profile and never view the comments left, whether good or bad.

It's unfortunate, but I think the emotional impact of getting negative feedback with no meaningful comments by someone who's afraid or unwilling to identify themselves just isn't worth it.

I expect that those that disagree with my position will award neg rep for this post. That's fine, I'm not going to see it.

If you are curious what your current rep value is (without having to view the comments), then you can still click on one of your posts.

I disabled my rep a while back and have never regretted doing so.
