So, just so I'm clear on the intent, if you choose Phoenix (Jean Grey) as your Avatar here and she's attacked and takes a wound, she rolls 4 unblockable attack dice against each adjacent figure, right?

That might be a more powerful combo than Phoenix Force and Cable ....

Not sure how you're getting 4? I'm only seeing 2 tops.

However it needs worded, and maybe it’s just built into the Avatar power, but I think it should be 1 die for an avatar, and 2 die if that figure already has Phoenix Fire. That’s the approach I was digging.

Each time a figure you control with the Phoenix Fire special power would roll a combat die for Phoenix Fire, it rolls one additional combat die.

FLYING
SUPER STRENGTH

Phoenix (Jean Grey) already has Phoenix Fire. So she default is rolling one combat die. Thanks to Cosmic Inferno, that becomes two combat dice.

Psionic Avatar grants Phoenix (Jean Grey) another Phoenix Fire special power. So she is now rolling a third combat die. Thanks to Cosmic Inferno, a fourth die is added as well.

Can a figure have the same special power twice? Not sure that's ground we've trodden. I can reword it if Tickle clarifies how many dice he wants an Avatar with Phoenix Fire rolling (and how many dice he wants an Avatar without Phoenix Fire rolling)

It's a good question. I'd think it'd be desirable to just add some language in the first power specifying if they don't already have it or something. We've mostly only granted powers like Super Strength or Flying in the past where doubling up would be mechanically irrelevant.

Agreed. Best to just word it in a way that sidesteps the issue.

Would that work? Struggling to express this in a Scapey way without blowing up the current sentence structure.

Yea my intent was not to have it double up like that. Good catch. I like the intent behind your last wording there.

I always treated those instances like it had negated the additional power. Anyways, probably should be worded something like this.
