Spoiler Alert!

Sector Seven. Probably one of the most dangerous areas of Arctorus, and that was saying a lot. Rich with minerals, luxurious animal pelts, and the only known source of Stardust. All of these things difficult to obtain, in high demand, and in the case of Stardust, very, very illegal.

The main settlement in Sector Seven - Boone's Gulch. A sprawling shantytown, populated with the shadiest spacers this side of the Gala Nexus. Sec-7 Authority is underfunded, corrupt, and inept, but that didn't stop the five Sec-7 officers from stalking the series of haphazard buildings, hunting for the spacer known as Cal.

Cal adjusted the bundle of Stardust under his poncho. He checked the device on his wrist - just over a minute. He grimaced from his hiding place under a set of stairs, putting out his cigarette so the ember didn't give him away in the shadow.

"Hey!"

He didn't wait to see who had said it. It had the misplaced authority of the Law, and that made Cal dive out of the alley, blaster in hand. He caught his balance, poncho whipping behind him as he made a break for it, down a wooden gangplank that served as a connection between buildings. Thirty seconds. Through someone's residence, passing by screams and shouts and clumsy laser-fire. Down the rickety metal roof, sliding on his backside until he got to the end, jumping over the edge and down onto the street. He checked the device.

A gleam of blaster-metal. Cal reacted, raising his own, his eye tracing the blue uniform of the Sec-7 officer. He fired. The officer recoiled before he could get his own shot off. Three seconds. Another officer appeared, but by then it was too late. The device on his wrist sounded an alarm, and he pushed the button. In a flash of light, he was gone.

Release Promo Text (from front page): The underworld of Arctorus has produced many unsavory creatures. Cal is not one of them, but he does use their tech. It's unreliable, but what is a smuggler supposed to do? He may not know what corner of space-time he's being flung to, but at least he's not stuck. Most of the time.

Phase Teleport Device:
At the beginning of each round, before placing Order Markers, if Cal the Smuggler has not been destroyed, you must roll the 20-sided die for Cal's Phase Teleport Device.
•If you roll a 1-4, remove Cal from the battlefield.
•If you roll a 5-10, nothing happens.
•If you roll an 11-20, you may place Cal on any empty space on the battlefield that is not adjacent to an enemy figure.
If Cal is engaged when he uses Phase Teleport Device, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Quick Draw 11:
When Cal the Smuggler is targeted for a normal attack from an opponent’s non-adjacent figure within 7 clear sight spaces of him, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll an 11 or higher, the opponent’s figure receives 1 wound.

If you successfully roll Quick Draw 11 for a common squad figure, does that squad figure count as "activated" for attacking even if he/she/it did not move?
YES. When a figure "targets" before an attack, it is activated and counts toward a figure used during the squad's turn, even if it did not move or get to attack.

As a Unique Outlaw Hero, Cal the Smuggler allows Tombstone Gunslingers within 2 clear sight spaces to roll an additional attack die using High Noon.

So when you roll a 1-4 he doesn’t die but just gets temporarily removed and sits on the sidelines waiting to come back? If so, if he’s your last figure alive but is sitting off the battlefield, does your opponent win or have to wait for Cal to come back?

I am 99% that is correct, as it is the same as if the Airborne never drop

If he is your last figure and leaves the board your opponent wins as you have no figures in your army anymore.

He’s alive until he’s dead. So if he’s removed, he can still come back…until he’s dead…then he can’t. Make sense?

Yes, I've never played him bc I thought he killed himself when he was removed. That's helpful

Yeah that would be awful. But no, he just drops and un-drops himself like an Airborne Elite.
